    custom windscreen

Jim, Thanks for that. Just to clarify, the screens you had made were of safety glass and you provided a mold and plexi screen to get them made?

    Burning Lady?Daytona?CAV

Amazing, I built one of those back in the late '60's. If I recall correctly it was a Sterling kit with 60" wingspan and an Enya 60 engine. I always said my 3 all-time favourite designs were; the GT40, the Spitfire and Concord. Somehow their lines are timeless and will always remain classics.

Mounting of starter on GTD adaptor for Renault

Sounds like you may be energizing the coil of a relay somehow inadvertently. Malcolm's idea of replacing the starter motor with a light bulb is a good one. Once you've connected it up and turned the starter key and released it the light should go out but I would guess the light stays on...

    Xtrac Transaxle

    Front Brakes and discs

Fred, I updated my Granada brakes and went the Wilwood route, based on the article by Mike Osborne on Robin Sundt's home page. Couldn't be happier with the results. Used Rally Design for the adaptor bells, and the 12.25" x 1.25" GT48 Fin Curved Vane rotors at the front with 11.75" X 1.25"...

    Porsche transaxle

Great input. Thanks guys. A 915 tranny it is then. I guess the old Porsche 914s back in the 60's and early 70's must have run something similar and some of them were modified to run 6 cylinder motors (914-6).

    Porsche transaxle

Bill, Thanks for the info. I guess I'll have to come clean. I'm planning to build a bookend for my GT40, namely a Porsche 906. This is turning out to be a much bigger job than I first thought since getting hold of authentic body sections is proving very difficult. If anyone out there knows...

    Porsche transaxle

I am considering using a Porsche g/box as Renault boxes as rare in N.A. I have noticed references to G50 and 915 boxes in previous posts. What are the differences and which one is better? Also what is involved with flipping the ring and pinion gear if that is required?
