    "GT40" crate engine

Re: \"GT40\" crate engine Spoke to Robert Logan at RF about my engine number and they are put on by RF for registration purposes as the Ford supplied GT40 crate motors are actually replacement motors and are not numbered. Sorry about the confusion but it answers a few questions. Regards

    The afterlife

John and Maude made a pack as they grew old that whoever died first would return and inform the other about life after death. John died and a couple of weeks later Maude was watching TV when she heard a noise behind her. "Is that you John" "Yes Maude " he said. "well what's it like? said Maude...

    ASHES

This test is a real worry,no matter who wins. Do you see where British Airways are going to offer seats to Oz. The number of seats is the number of runs the Poms score and the price is the number of runs the Aussies score. Not that our girls here would be too interested but they will eat a lot...

Gee Pete. Don't give up yet. I really believe they are just trying to lull the Poms into a false sense of security. If we can only get Warne off his mobile for a couple of overs, The Ashes are ours.

    2006 Ford GT info....

Tom B. Ford tried to buy back the GT40 name for their new car, but the price was too high to justify. They are from all reports a great car and I'll always look up to them. I have no choice they tower over a real or replica GT40. Regards

    My stupid question

Most of the replicas do not have their vents "open" as that is the way they come out of the mould. It takes a fair bit of work (cost) to cut open and finish properly, but looks far better, and more original. All turnkey Roaring Forties have the vents cut out and I am sure so will Superformance...

Talking Porsches, I can recall Porsche displaying their new Boxster next to either a 550 or RSK as if this was the new one. Sort of like Fords smoke and mirror act with the GT40, ooops sorry FordGT. Regards

They can paint them whatever colour they like. Great car but it will never be a GT40.

PROGRESS REPORT ROARING FORTIES, CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA

This post reminds me of a visit to the factory during the build of my turnkey. The spaceframe had just arrived back from the powder coating and Robert pointed out a tiny part not done well. As this was going to be covered with paneling I told Robert not to worry as it would never be seen. No...

    RF Dashboard gauge location

Australian Design Rules demand that the speedo is in front of the driver, hence that position. Owners can and do swap it back to the original setup. I think I can recall the new Mini having similar problems here in OZ. Regards Norman

No. 110 South African RF expected soon

Join the club. I had to wait a long time for the then 302 motor to get past emission testing. The process must nearly drive Robert crackers. I had to wait 12 months a while back for a SLK Benz to order from the factory. The wait however is well worth it. Mine is now over 4 years old and every...

With McGrath out the Poms will be less reliant on their great hope. The Pommy cheer squad has been in full voice chanting "Heavy Heavy Heavy", "Rain Rain Rain" in an effort to drown out (excuse the pun) "Aussie Aussie Aussie", "Oi Oi Oi". Jokes aside let's hope its a good and close...

    Clarkson returns GT

If he had kept the car,it would not be news. Nothing wrong with a bit of serious self promotion.
