If You Don't Wear a Seatbelt.......

Re: If You Don\'t Wear a Seatbelt....... Ken. Yes there is a campaign here that targets drink drivers. It says if you "Drink drive ,you're a bloody idiot". Sort of like the aids ads we had with long haired ferals hurling bowling balls at the innocent. Apart from that it really is a great...

If You Don't Wear a Seatbelt.......

Re: If You Don\'t Wear a Seatbelt....... I was under the impression that an airbag was not an alternative to a seatbelt but the two working together reduced injury in the event of a crash. At an advanced driving course I attended a while back the instructor went to great pains to get us to...

    The Trip[ Down Under...

Hersh. It was great to catch up with you in OZ. We are very very fortunate to live here. The day after we played golf I climbed into an Elfin Clubman to contest the Grand Prix Rally. The new Elfins you saw at the Motor Show are very interesting. They came into being after one of the...

    Gt40's in Australia

Re: Gt40\'s in Australia If I am correct there is only one and that belongs to David Bowden and resides in his collection of historic touring cars (race cars that is). There were I think at best 4 original cars in OZ. The Bowden car was reimported with great savings of duty. Regards

    Mind blowing

Gee Pete I just don't know how you guys in Queensland can eat these beautiful creatures. Reminds me of the story of this guy in court in Brisbane for eating a dolphin. He told the judge that he was in dire financial straits and this was the only way he could feed his wife and kids. The...

    How many RF' GT40's produced?

Re: How many RF\' GT40\'s produced? Back in 1967 I bought my first Porsche. This was a time when Porsches drew crowds. The shop had room to service two or three cars and the "showroom" held one. You knew the owner (a friend of Dr Porsche) and all who worked there by first names. They knew every...

How to mark switch legends on dash?

I think the originals were done in Dymo. I bought a cheap Dymo machine but was concerned of possible damage to the finish on the dash. I ended up just placing one letter eg W for wipers,L for lights etc on the flat part of the Lucas type toggles. It works for me. Regards

    Bidding war for GTO.

Seems the new FORD GT is not the only car where buyers are paying for a delivery spot. The OZ built Holden Monaro to be sold in the US as a Pontiac GTO has it's fans. In Nov. Ebay had 16 listed and at least 10 have been completed with one party handing over $US6200. The unions over there have...

    Last minute Christmas shopping idea?

They don't have capital gain on motor vehicles in OZ as most go down and not up, and the capital loses would far outweigh the few capital gains!!!

    Do your research.

Yes Mike. It will be good for intending puchasers when there are plenty to view at home. Incorporate your research into a holiday as my post suggests and the cost greatly reduces. I would however consider spending $3000 upgrading something I should not have bought in the first place as throwing...

    Do your research.

Anyone looking to buy a kit/turnkey should have a good look at this site and the various websites of the manufacturers and then work out the ones of interest and go have a look at the factories. The cost of an airline ticket is small in the overall cost of a GT40.It is cheap insurance because...

    Kyosho GT40 Nitro car

I have been looking for one of these for a while now and I bought this one on Ebay after a very heated bidding war. My resident expert in the office has nitro cars and he alerted me to this one. I will spray up the body on mine but still undecided on colors. The kit has all the decals for 1075...
