Unless someone talks me out of it...these will be my latches...

Yep, sounds like it could work OK. I don't think that chassis rail is particularly structural (apart from side impacts :() ), but you could weld in another short piece under where the cut is which would retain its strength.

FS EU UK Delivery of Stuff

Hi Keith That's a coincidence as I just found out about this service yesterday too. I needed to return something to Amazon and followed the returns process which gives the option to use this collect+ service. Just dropped it off at the local ASDA. I think they log it as soon as you drop it off...

Unless someone talks me out of it...these will be my latches...

Hi Darrin I like the look of those, especially if they are matched with the aero style catches for the top of the rear clip. Although, I'm struggling to see how the bottom sections will be fitted - won't there be a chassis rail running along the top of the sill which will be in the way?

M3/1103 featured in Octane magazine (Jul 2013)

That's interesting. It had a cross over exhaust prior to the restoration. Did the Mark III's originally have the simpler exhaust design? Good to see it out and about on the road again.

    oscilloscope suggestions?

Ah, OK. Thought it was worth a shot. Good luck finding the issue. I'm sure you'll be glad when you've finally got to the bottom of it. Can't be far away now...

    oscilloscope suggestions?

Hi John Glad to hear setting up the MS is easier than the theory! Thanks! Just had a look through your other thread... Have you tried posting your MSQ from the MS onto the MegaSquirt Engine Management Systems forum and asking for help there? If you're suspecting something electrical, someone...

    oscilloscope suggestions?

Hi Keith I'll be honest with you - I have no idea! I'm still researching how to do a standalone system, and leaning about fuel injection, ignition, cop, injectors etc... Lots of reading through books and also on MegaSquirt Engine Management Systems It looks like an oscilloscope is useful for...

    oscilloscope suggestions?

I recently got an old school analogue one for under £50 off ebay. It's got dual inputs on the front, plus another on the rear. I'm hoping it'll do all I need for when I'm building / setting up the megasquirt and sensors / outputs etc.

    EPAS (Electric Power Assist Steering)

Thanks for the info Keith. Electronics is a whole other world! My gearbox (Audi 01E) has an electronic speed output signal, so in theory I should be able to set up something so the power steering unit changes assistance as the speed changes. Need to learn a lot more about PICs etc first though :)

    EPAS (Electric Power Assist Steering)

Hi Keith This looks really interesting, well done! What processor are you using? I've got a corsa unit too and looking for a solution for this (although I'm a little way off fitting it yet!). I've been wondering if something suitable could be built from an Arduino unit. Guess you're taking a...

James' GT-Forté scratch build GT40 MkI

Hi Darrin. Yep, I've made a folder which is 1m wide too, so that will get used quite a bit when it comes to the panels. The little one is much stronger / rigid for bending the U-brackets. It's surprising how strong 3mm plate is!

James' GT-Forté scratch build GT40 MkI

I've fabricated a metal folder / bending brake to bend the metal for the suspension U-brackets. I got to use the lathe for the first time (for turning down the internal hinge tube), which was good. 1 down, 19 U-brackets to go!
