2020 RBT ZF transaxle power/torque ability?

These are typical of other past reports. Does anyone know if they have improved the transaxle in the last few years? DaveM, what transaxle are you now using, or are you committed to the ZF due to the car construction?

2020 RBT ZF transaxle power/torque ability?

Most of the discussion about GT40 RBT ZF transaxles are more than a decade old. I've been told that the lastest RBT ZF has been "beefed up" and is now capable of handling 600+ HP/Torque in a GT40 under track conditions. However, I see a lot of older posts that say the transaxle longevity is...

    Big Block vs Small Block

Fran Hall tells me that installing the FE engine in the RCR40 makes it very difficult to install accessories like air conditioning. You have to build a firewall bump, to get clearance to fit. I've also priced an FE build and it will be more than $10k what a small block build will be with the...

    I need a transaxle

HCF can set you up with a Graziano. They also work on the Ricardo. However, with your engine I think the ZF is the best option for function and authenticity.

    Graziano vs. RBT

I think John B writes about, and HCF is a supplier in the USA of the Graz. He speaks of an L140 for the Audi R8. I've also read it called the V10. Not sure of the difference.

    Graziano vs. RBT

How does the Graziano fit in the RCR GT40 chassis if is 3" longer than the ZF? It seems like a great option for a 500+ HP/Ftlb engine, and is comparably priced to the RBT thanks to John. Can you mate this to an FE block and have the geometry work with the output shafts and aft subframe?

Tell me why i should or shouldn’t buy this GT40...

I'm in the research stage of buying or building a replica GT40. Here is what I've learned (USD$$). Authenticity versus reality. All GT40 replicas and continuations are not exactly the same car that was made in the 1960's. New materials, performance parts (brakes!), left seat drive in the...

    GT40 reference materials

Ryan, thank you! Now I have a reading list! Santa brought me the Haynes Ford GT40 manual. I'll be shopping for Ronnie Spain's most recent edition, and others. Thank you.

    What gearbox with what power/torque

What about the Graziano V10? These are the gearboxes used by the R8, and you can get a new one with drop gears, for the same or less than some of those already mentioned. Capable of high torque with parts and service available locally.

    GT40 reference materials

Merry Christmas, all. Michel, I apologize if I misused the term "tribute." I brought up this and the FIA, thinking that there must be organizations that have accurate and standardized documentation on the '60's GT40's. How else would they evaluate a car, and how else would a restorer build...

    GT40 reference materials

Thanks for the responses. I'm not wanting to build a continuation car. But, if the car is a tribute to a specific chassis, I'd like to do as much as I can $$$ to be true to the original. Mike recommended Ronnie Spain's book, I've also now found a similar publishing by Trevor Legate. Thanks...

    GT40 reference materials

I'm heavy into the research stage of my project. I have plenty of time to figure out exactly what I want to do, before I get started. However, it is difficult to find a comprehensive reference source for the 1960's GT40 serial numbers. Specifically, how each car was configured, painted...

Ford GT40 Factory Blueprints Chassis plans from Ford Advanced Vehicles

Has it been confirmed that there are actual blueprints that were updated along with the development of the GT40? I'd be surprised if there are any updates past the original Mk1 chassis. The development of the car was very fast paced, and most of the development was in the fiberglass body while...
