    My New Twins!!

Yes, nice color scheme. There was one like those in at my local SPF dealer a few weeks ago being prepped for racing. Enjoy:D

Thanks to all. This is exactly the kind of information I'm looking for.

Of Roll Cages, Fuel Bladders & Fire Systems

The new fuel cell option isn't a factory-installed option????? Why the hell not??? And if a roll cage "may be available as an option" why can't Hi-Tech make it to satisfy SCCA and FIA rules??? (At least for under SCCA purveyance, where they're probably going to sell the vast majority of their...

    Venzano Interior for SPF GT40P2117

N-I-C-E. What was the cost of this option?

    SPF MKII Ownership

O.K. I know that an issue with the (now discontinued) Ford GT's was that if it had been raining, water would pool in the top door seals and when you opened the door the water would dump on the seats. But, hey. We're getting a race car, not a practical daily driver. (Did Dan Gurney let a...

    SPF MKII Ownership

Mike: Thanks for your timely responses. Like Johan said, we will be getting pretty much a raw, barely street-legal race car and the refinement and pristine cosmetics we are used to with new production cars just isn't gonna be there. Once we get past that realization, we will be much more...

    SPF MKII Ownership

Beautiful car. And thanks for the report. For most of us this car will be a very major expenditure and we are anxious for any reports on the item as received. Which brings up questions, that I may respectively ask: Why was this necessary? Is not that a stock option? Or was it before the...

    RHD / Right Hand Shifter

Yes. Very N-I-C-E. A set-up too keep in mind. Brain fart. Too late at night and too much Jim Crow . . . . uh, Old Crow . . . um, Jim Beam.

    RHD / Right Hand Shifter

Could be, but isn't worth starting another thread. Le Mans is CCW. My local raceway it CCW. You should probably set up for where you plan to run your car. The RHD GT-40's did well enough at Le Mans, but who knows how they had the weight of the ancillary equipment (battery, etc.) distributed in...

    RHD / Right Hand Shifter

Good point. Not only that, in a light-weight racer a driver in the RHD position on a high-g left corner is less desireable than if he is in LHD, as in that position his weight counteracts body roll. And there's more corners to the left than to the right on said typical American tracks.

    Superformance Ford GT MkII

Very N-I-C-E. What's your cost on trucking it out to the west coast? I might do this if Olthoff turns out to be the only really decent SFP GT40 wrencher.

    Front Canard Wings

Hmmmm. O.K. I've never, ever heard or read the term "canard" in reference to the aerodynamics and the appendages which influence which on sports-racing cars of the 1960's.

    Front Canard Wings

Weren't these items referred to "in the day" as strakes? If not, what was the difference?

    RHD / Right Hand Shifter

I suspect the "straight shot" from the sill mount to the engine compartment will be the simplest, most straight-forward and trouble-free. Of course, not every SPF wrencher is going to have the wherewithal to exactly copy the original gt40's shift linkage. Does anybody know what support or...

    RHD / Right Hand Shifter

More importantly, to me, will the shifter mounted next to the sill on a RHD SPF GT40 offer significantly better function due to a more favorable geometry to the ZF transaxle? I know Frank's operation probably doesn't get many requests for center-console shifter installations for RHD...

Roush Edition SPF GT40 at Barrett-Jackson

I don't know. I haven't been on eBay in months and don't know about that one. Rich: How about it?

Roush Edition SPF GT40 at Barrett-Jackson

Yeah, I'll bet the high bid missed the reserve by $30,000 or more --- probably a lot more.
