    John's RCR build

More pics. Also cut holes and ran the conduit through the spinal column along with the other pipes. Next jobs are trial fit the complete LS7 and ZF-Q then drill holes for engine mounts and cut out the starter motor recess plate. When the engine is in place will also trial fit the headers to...

    John's RCR build

'Ello all Been hibernating during the cold bit but out in the garage now like a true harbinger of spring. Some recent progress. 1. Connected up the brake/clutch reservoirs 2. Installed radiator, bleed pipe to header, condenser, trinary tubes etc. Was going to shroud the rad etc but after...

    Jokes anyone? -

    SL-C recommended engine/transaxle combos

The combo in my RCR40 is LS7, Kinsler stack and Quaife ZF-Q. The ZF-Q weighs approx 150lbs so will keep the polar moment of inertia low with benefits to handling. Best John

    Jokes anyone? -

Normally I do not send or forward a lot of these, but even by my standards it was a bit touching and I want all of my friends to feel what I felt when I read it. Hope it touches your heart like it did mine This is so beautiful... A little boy says to his mother...

Pete Superb , keep 'em coming; where do you find all this stuff? Judge to prostitute : 'So when did you realize you were raped?' Prostitute, wiping away tears: 'When the cheque bounced.' John

    Hello All,

Hi Christer I have found this site so friendly and helpful with my own (RCR based) build, an invaluable source of useful stuff and informed (usually:rolleyes:) comment. Tell us more about your car, maybe opening a build thread would be a good way of doing this? Regards John

    J. Salmon RCR-40 Build

J I shall follow the resolution of your Compressor and Alternator fit keenly! Gosh that Ricardo is one big transaxle,so fitting my Quaife ZF-Q will (hopefully:uneasy:) be easier. You really seem to be moving on, great stuff. Which oil cooler take off did you end up going for? Best wishes...

    Back to Cars

'Ello The main reason I joined this Forum was the high signal to noise ratio and all the good ideas and technical information. The other stuff is important too but unfortunately attracts a disproportionally high number of the for Gods sake get a life sad fringe of nutters. You know the sort of...

    LS7 oil cooler part 2

Tom and J Thanks for the idea's and information. Tom, your build looks excellent, thanks for the link. Especially nice pics of your oil cooler and mount. The GD T70 looks compact and well thought out, I seem to recall that the wheelbase and track are almost identical to the GT40...

    LS7 oil cooler part 2

'Ello Having been sorted by Tom in part 1 as to fitting the next question is optimum sizing; the engine will be on about 550bhp. Plan is to mount at the rear just just in front of the left hand rear clip back panel cut out. Air flow in this area will not be as good as a front mount so I guess...

    LS7 oil cooler

Tom Thanks for that, any pics of your build? I have sent a pm with my email address. Best John Tom and J. If the good Lord had intended us to push pedals up and down he would not have invented the Internal Combustion Engine..........

    LS7 oil cooler

Spud:laugh: just noticed you have a GD T70, superb piece of kit, very nice rear coil mounts. Saw an owner's car at Stoneleigh kit car show here in the UK also fitted with an LS (think it was a 7) and Kinsler stack, absolute knockout. You probably know that Andy Burrows imports LS engines into...

    Fuel Hoses

Paul and Jim Thank you. The Speedflow information sheet was interesting. I want the braided ss for appearance plus the pressure fittings look much neater than clamps IMO. Paul, it seems both 100 (Nitrile) and 200(Teflon) are well up to the job but with the latter costing about 50% then...

    Fuel Hoses

'Ello I am planning the layout of my Kinsler supplied fuel system to feed the Kinsler stack EFI. There appear to be two types of stainless steel braided hose available, Nitrile Rubber and Teflon. The Teflon hose is about half the cost of the Nitrile and both claim to be up to the job. What...

Rcr europe parts / spinner tool

Tom Oops, found this posting I made earlier in the year, do you agree? Re: Care & Feeding of Knock-Off / On wheels Found this on the Cobra Forum (thanks Dean), actual torque numbers "Center lock nuts/ spinners should be torqued to 400 ft./lbs. This is common knowledge in the pits. Using a...
