Rcr europe parts / spinner tool

Tom I recall doing some research on the recommended torque figures on triple eared GT40 nuts but can't recall the result. Do you happen to know what they should be? You have an excellent looking tool by the way...................rarely seen such a big one! Thanks John

Randy I have the bladder (bag?) tanks as supplied by RCR, they are excellent and come complete with FIA approval , but thanks for the thought Fran I will give you a call tomorrow, thanks :chug: Best John

    RCR Bag Tanks

'Ello Has anybody out there fitted bag tanks to an RCR yet. If yes what is the easiest () way to cut the holes in the mono for the fuel pipe filler and breather hose since work space is tight under the scuttle? Also from a positioning point of view I plan to align the holes so that...

    ZFQ new proposed GT40 transaxle

'Ello There is now some great information on the ZF-Q (62G) transaxle on the Quaife site including tech drawings and recommendations on oil. John

    ZFQ new proposed GT40 transaxle

Chris or Martin I note on your new site that the oil temp on the Kyalami cars was 125deg C. I am debating the fitment of a pump and cooler to my ZF-Q hence the questions. What is the optimum operating temp range for the oil which you recommend. I notice that some (synthetic) gearbox oils have...

    Sway Bars on an RCR

Tom, many thanks. Fran, good stuff, so much to learn so little time:laugh:. Do I get the softer springs direct from you? Have developed a great (well I think it is!) solution for mounting the rears, I will post some pics soon. As ever delighted with the level of RCR engineering, had a...

    Sway Bars on an RCR

Dean Many thanks for the advice. My lever arms are shorter than yours, 8ins front and rear, the fronts having about a 15degree bend approx 2.5" from the bar. The bars are 37". I need to figure out the maths to see how this would compare with your set up and will pm you to get your views on...

    ZFQ new proposed GT40 transaxle

Chris Good news indeed. Do I remember you saying that the Kyalami cars were running 525bhp motors and without transmission oil coolers........If true then some achievement. Soon have mine trial fitted to the (550bhp) LS, oh happy days Best John

UNC and UNF Nuts and Bolts - UK source

David and Mike Thanks, I will try your suggestions out. I am well serviced by 2 local fixings specialists but like all the places I have tried in the UK the only bolts they don't stock are grade 8 UNC/UNF. This time in desperation I have bought from macmaster and had them shipped to my step...

    Sway Bars on an RCR

'Ello all As shipped my RCR40 comes with 550lb springs front and rear with dual adjustable QA1 dampers and a front sway bar dia of 1" and rear of 3/4". I have followed Deans set up for ride hight, camber and caster at the front and plan to do so at the rear. Sway bar lever arm length and...

UNC and UNF Nuts and Bolts - UK source

Mark Many thanks, I'll try them. Loving the build, though perhaps slow (and careful!) by the standards of some. Will get round to updating the build thread in a week or so. Best John

UNC and UNF Nuts and Bolts - UK source

Frank I tried them and whoever I spoke to said they did'nt do the grade 8.5. Lower grade, so called high tensile fixings which from memory have 3 radial line markings, are not a problem. RCR fit the 8.5 and I want to stick with them for any mods I make. You are most welcome to come round...

UNC and UNF Nuts and Bolts - UK source

'Ello all Has anyone in the UK found a source for SAE 8.5 grade UNC and UNF fixings, these are normally finished with a light gold coloured plating and have the six radial markings on the bolt head. I've tried all the usual searches but without success so any help would be much appreciated...

    Wonder Woman

Fran A big thank you to Casey who despite some difficult family problems has really pulled out all the stops getting some additional parts to me over the last few days. I have not made it any easier for her since I often don't know what I want till I get there on the build manual resulting in...

Give us a break (brake?) Fran.........and anything else ya got for us

Murray Got to be a mono. Given comparable engineering design skills a mono is a better structure in most respects than a space frame. Also the mono tub looks much nicer and the originals were mono, of course (albeit mild steel). Also look at the billet ally suspension parts Fran supplies and...

Give us a break (brake?) Fran.........and anything else ya got for us

Murray I started this bl***dy thread off, sadly. Like you this time last last year I was a virgin rookie eagerly awaiting the arrival of my RCR having done the due dillly bit to death. It's my first kit, I'm lovin' the build and the RCR40 (and Superlight coupe) are the best engineered kits...
