    RCR's Next car should be.....

Lola T330 and T332. These were F5000 cars, profesional series in the early 70s...after that they were found in SCCA club racing for several seasons. A friend of mine had one for a year or so before selling to campaign a less expensive to run, Lotus 7 race car. These Lolas were usually fitted...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

Back in the '70s I knew a fellow building a BD-5 airplane..same trouble, small short cockpit. He extended the fuselage 4 inches in front of the wing root and bulkhead, thus extending the seating area with little change to the overall balance of the aircraft... and his tallness then fit! Also...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

The tub and pedal layout in many of Frans RCRs is done in a way to accomidate larger people than the original cars did..Take for example the 917,,,the tube frame version is restricted for tall or large folk, as it is a copy of the original frame and internal space ..but the 917 version with the...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

A few years ago Jim Hall was building more of his own authentic Chaparrals... I have failed to keep up on those, and don't even know if he is still alive today, let alone, if he or a subsequent assignee is still overseeing the construction of the "expensive" duplicates of his original cars...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

In reading the article that Fran links, it appears that Nick was comissioned to drive the car at its first public outing, the event that year at Goodwood. It implies that ownership is retained by Audi...That article, written back in 2008., states [paraphrased that the car seen with Nick driving...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

:sad:I did not know that Steve sold off the Saleen car company. I simply don't follow that 'brand' as I did not have much interest in the cars, let alone the prospects of ownership. Now I am beginning to see a larger picture here...I'll have to goggle about some and catch up on the history of...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

Very cool! A few years ago a local fellow that owns an S7 was in the middle of some sort of dispute with Saleen over a minor warranty issue when one of the large seasonal car shows was scheduled, and his Saleen was contracted to be in the show, along with the same fellows Ford GT [ the new GT...

Robertson racing Ford GT Petit Le Mans

Or the Ferrari team that ran out of fuel....As a Corvette owner and Ferrari enthusiast, I was REALLY feeling it both ways...... Are the Robertson cars custom built from scratch, or are they built upon at least some portion of production Ford GT chassis/frame components for "production car...

    Ball Joint Drilling

Just for clarification, the lower ball joint on a C5 Corvette does not in any way bolt to the A-arm. It is pressed into the aluminum A-arm casting and simple friction holds it in place. My C5 will soon be needing rear lowers. I just purchased replacement ball joints, with grease fittings absent...

RCR SLC for sale (abandoned on the sidewalk???)

Showing up with 10Grand cash in some parts of LA would likely get you shot and your body found later in the burned and smoldering ruins of the car you drove in with... Sorry... this sort of thing HAS happended in reality for a lot less than 10 Large. Just 2 weeks ago I saw a crime show on the...

    Thanks Harbor Freight

We bought a HF 1 ton arbor press yesterday, had a need and needed it quick, and they were the only game in town. Mike and I took it apart and scrubbed it down...removed the imitation lubrication from all the parts. The arbor needed the ends touched up with a belt grinder to get rid of burrs...

    P 4/5 May Go Racing

Nice livery proposal, James! I really prefer this sort of approach over the hard uber graphic brash colors so popular these days. [ which are fine & good for some other car shapes, but not this one] Tradition, with just a touch of bold...classy man, classy! Jennifer
