Webber SET UP and Tune Tutorial

Just an FYI here....never did get a DVD...just some pissy e-mails and empty promises. The smell actually was my money turning to vapor.

What type of mufflers are you running?

I find this set-up very interesting...although I have no info on where they came from or how well the worked or hold up over time.

    If it wasn't a GT40...

For fun, if there were no GT40s, what would be the object(s) of desire that you would realistically try to make yours? A list of two or three is acceptable. No boundaries as to what you can pick except the items need to be realistically obtainable by you and your means.

    Wheel manufacturers

Will someone be kind enough to list what manufacturers are making 6 pin BRM and/or Halibrand knock offs? I've read about time and cost issues, fitment issues and runout issues. Are there any people doing a timely and good job anymore? I've little hope for low cost wheels. Thanks, Scott

    looking for good trans

"Scott, for your clarification, the 911 turbos before '89 had five speed boxes. Specifically, from '86 to '88 a five speed was standard on the 911 turbo. Ask me how I know." Sorry, but this is not accurate. Many, many 911's prior to '89 had 915 5-speeds and some ('86 on) had getrag...

    Current fuel prices

I have co workers who LOVE to complain about fuel prices. My reply is always the same. How much would someone have to pay you to do the same work accomplished by a gallon of gas? (I leave out the inherent massive inefficiency of an internal combustion engine and losses associated with gears...

Fellas, Thanks for your replies. I'll send a gentle e-mail and let some time pass...I don't have any pressing need anyway...but still really hate that smell. Scott

    Eagle rods

I'd still like an idea on the pecking order for which is best though if posible if anyone knows, or has an opinion :) I'd say that everyone has a favorite version of their manufacturer's rod but I'm not sure that anyone has a definitive answer as to who's is "best." The top of the main-line...

    Eagle rods

If you have some time and are not searching for an unusually dimensioned rod, you can do very well by searching eBay. New-in-box rods are auctioned every day. Carrillo, Crower, Oliver, Pankl, Scat, Eagle, billet, forged, titanium... I've seen and purchased rods this way and saved a fair bit of...

    Used Nascar cranks?

Sorry for such a basic question to many but what is the generally accepted equation for determining total rod journal width required for a given rod width? Connecting rod big end rod (doubled if 2 rods on a common journal?) + X = required crank journal width Thanks -Scott

    Used Nascar cranks?

The primary reason I ask is that I stumbled into a new-in-the-box set of Pankl rods for $400, 5.7" in length and...as was suspected above... honda journals. Any idea what might be the max stroke length a fella could reliably run in an 8.7" deck...assuming a 8.2" deck might be a tough sell...

    Used Nascar cranks?

Anyone else tempted to buy a high dollar (Bryant...) when new... but now "used " NASCAR crank? Other than issues inherent to any used part, what would be your concerns? Anyone know what the max counterweight diameter a R302/dart/aluminum 302 blcok can accomidate? Thanks, Scott

    A most fortunate bad day...

Were they both still in the car when it stopped? Either way, they are massively lucky to not have been crushed, drowned or otherwise (quite possibly fatally) injured... .

    A most fortunate bad day...

that you (and your unrestrained and unprotected) son are alive and intact. The driver stated he had a stuck throttle in his(?) vintage Can-Am McLaren leaving Road America after Friday's practice. This year's Kohler (previously Brian Redman) International Challenge claimed the number 11 McLaren...
