    Dry Sump

Rear drive dry sump? I've seen "rear drive" or "bellhousing mounted" dry sump pumps mentioned a few times in the past. I've searched the net for information but have only been able to find limited info and no decent images of mock-ups/applications. Can anyone point me at an image or schematic...

    Dry Sump

I once read that ERA could convert a portion of the fuel sponson into an oil tank...I hope that is correct.

    met a U-2 pilot today

Some may not find this very interesting but I was amazed to meet this guy (Mr. Beaumont)today. I work in healthcare so I can't tell you how I met him but as I was working for this fellow, I made some small-talk asking the usual superficial/benign questions to distract him from my work and to...

    Block deck shaving

Looking at a new aluminum RDI SBF w/ 0.1 inches off the deck. It doesn't really make sense why someone would do that to a new block though. -Scott

ERA replicas makes the bell. As for the cover w/ "ears", RBT makes them. There may be other sources as well. Good Luck!! -Scott

Looking for a Yamaha SRX600 Single.......

John, I'm pretty sure that is a 998. I have a lowly 916 w/ a few mods. It only has about 2400 miles as I don't get to ride much -Scott

That looks to be a lucky son of a buck. IF he's not already, he should be on the "wrong side of the grass."

Looking for a Yamaha SRX600 Single.......

Ron, I've seen several on eBay as they come up in my searches for an "original" Yamaha SRX ('76-79 SRX sleds). Something about singles that big...must be the way they disarticulate your shoulders just off idle. -Scott

I've put teh imgaes in my albums at: http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=2116862926 . I can e-mail higher res images to people if they want to post them here. The pics are from a film camera and so are not top-notch but are still acceptable (in my book). The camera was loaded w/ my wifes...

Oliver, Certainly no offense taken here...just trying to give credit where it seems due. Mr. Fagen is also listed as a former Canadian aerobatics champion so it seems that he has aeroshell in his veins and ethanol streaming from his bladder!!! -Scott

I'm not very knowledgable in the world of replica aircraft. Are there replicas? This one was in nearly unmarked (only paint I saw was a S/N and fuel requirements) aluminum and looked every bit the part of a ~60 year old original. My teeth nearly fell out of my head when I saw it. -Scott

Earlier this fall, I encountered a genuine 289 cobra in Appleton, WI and thought I was living right. Yesterday, as my family traveled back to Wisconsin from turkey day in South Dakota, I noticed a very large propeller sticking out from behind a building about a 1/4 mile off the highway just...

I was there but on the opposite side of the track when this happened. Apparently there was a fist fight that broke out shortly after the pile up. A GREAT event but a pity this happened. Scott
