Just been to the Speedshow here in Auckland and maybe its time for a motor change, which one do you think would be the most suitable. Cost appears to be no problem..My axel`s might say otherwise.

Copy Jac, the total length increase was 20mm which I can accommodate extending on one side as we set up the left first, worked out approx how much extra and then added the correct amount to the other side. I shall just turn up a new end adaptor plus 20mm with maybe a bit more to play with. Cheers

Jac, that explains things. I ventured into the shed armed with my new `knowledge` and a fresh mind, Lengthened the rack approx 20mm and run the front thru its range.....hey presto, close as first time. After a couple more positions we were well within tolerance without any surgery. I shall make...

Thanks Jac, I will try that next week. Drove past your place a couple of weeks ago...felt sure I could recognize your entrance but failed. Next time. Had a look at the GT40 and Jaguars at Classic Car Developments and was blown away by the skill levels. Dave was very accommodating and spent time...

Jac Thanks for that, the three points, contrary to the photo angle are in the same plane. Top chassis mount thru the rack ball to the bottom chassis mounts. From memory, my graph`s were saying lower the rack. Cheers

BUMP STEER ...HELP PLEASE The last time i played around trying to set up / remove bump steer, I ended up more confused than ever so gave up and got on with other tasks. The Toyota upright appears to have a raised bottom ball joint so that my geometry thru the ball joints is suspect. Can some...

Ford GT40 Factory Blueprints Chassis plans from Ford Advanced Vehicles

Everybody`s dream is different, that`s why we are all individuals. When I first toyed with the idea of building a car some 15 years ago, my friend said why? do you think you can do better than Mr Toyota with his millions? Now all these years and 5 cars later, he is one of my biggest fans...

Aussie GT40 - on a budget (if possible)

Hi Christpher I used that same / similar chassis design in the road going Mclaren M8B that I am building, (my 3rd Mclaren). I had to make some changes around the front due to the larger air exhaust from the radiator and the overall chassis width. This car is running a Toyota 1UZ on an Audi 012...

Classic Car Developments Chassis #5 - Doc Watson's car

I recently called thru Classic Car Developements in Invercargil and spent almost an hour chatting to Dave. I found him to be very helpful and interested in what I had done even though I was not buying anything. The dedication to detail and skills evident in the GT40 of Brian Stewart`s and the...

Finally back to sq one with the exhaust, the original mufflers protruded thru the back of the car about 20mm prompting a rebuild from two mufflers to one muffler with joint interior which also meant that the balance pipe could be removed. By careful design and construction, I was able to use all...

No action in the shed for the last 3 weeks as we have just done close on 4000k`s around the south Island. Had great weather, 1 frost, no snow and plenty of cool sun with day time temps more than acceptable. Managed to call into Classic car developements and look at Andrews GT40, what a...

Bit more action in the shed with the car more visible now that the dust and fibre glass part is all but done. I have got the bodywork all but ready for the epoxy undercoat and final detail sanding ready to paint once summer gets here. Its now back to the assembly of the chassis and then wiring...

Pushed the boundary`s yesterday and made the mold for the dash, waxed it a few times and then laid it up. Woke up this morning and first task was to check if it separated and as you can see it did. Fabricated the steel backing mounts and glued them in place so the entire dash can be removed for...

Bit more progress, all panels mounted and check fitted. Spent the last few days making the light boxes and sorting out how we will adjust the hi low beam lights. These units are Harley Davidson sealed LED units 140mm in dia. The polycarb lens will be glued and screwed in place. I have also made...

Leon, also remember to strip your molded product with a grease and wax removing solvent before you do any repair work...you will be surprised how much wax transfers in the molding process. Russell

    M20 Dreaming

Leon, yes great to see your progress, very impressed. I purchased it from Smits group but would think any serious car paint shop would stock it. I am sure you will be pleased with the results. Cheers
