You can get what you need off a Camero or Firebird from the late 90s.

    SLC 24 Howard Jones

Don't forget that it is attached to an aluminum chasis that should be about the same temperature. The chasis should grow about as much as the tank.

    Cooling question

Check your coolant levels. Sounds like you have an air bubble in the system to me.

    Toms RCR 40 Trackracer

I used a supercharger intercooler pump off a Mustang Cobra or Ford Lightning. They cost about $100 and are available all over ebay. They are not available at most discount auto stores. It works very well. Here is a link for you: lightning intercooler pump, buy and sell Parts Accessories...

    Toms RCR 40 Trackracer

I hooked up my heater the same way you did and got zero flow through it. The radiator does not present enough resistance to flow to create a driving head for the heater. I had to add a pump dedicated to the heater circuit.

    LSx - Weber Intake Manifold

If the plenum is big enough to allow full flow you have over 1,000 CFM of carburetor. The engine will lean out and die every time you start to open the throttle due to a loss of signal. If the plenum is very restrictive between cylinders it will be ok.

Wiring for only one fuel gauge

You could also use a DPDT switch to select pumps and gages with the same switch.

    Brake connections...

Darnel is not completely correct. You have at least 4 pipe threaded conections that do need teflon sealant. There are right angle adaptors on each of your brake cylinders that are pipe threads. You may also have some pipe thread adaptors at the connection between the rear flex lines and the...

    Fuel System Simplicity

There is one thing that I don't think you have addressed. How do you plan to keep the swirl pot from overfilling?

Narrow minded people, hacks, and posers....

Actually he got more support than I would have expected. There was certainly spirited debate but more than a few people came to his defense. Does make you think twice about bad mouthing someone with one of the less authentic GT40 kits such as a Kellison or someone who puts a Chevy engine...

    audi 016 final drive conversion

I missed my chance about a year ago. The exchange rate was more favorable and I could have got the gear set for about $1000 US. In hind site I should have bought a few and resold them when the exchange rate was less favorable.

Storing an engine...and some build questions

I can't help you with locating a machine shop up there. On rust prevention I think a good coating of motor oil would work fine.

    Show me your center consoles

Here's mine. most of it is just a piece of aluminum that I bent over a pipe. The front part I made out of fiberglass. I had a local shop upholster it.

Storing an engine...and some build questions

I don't think I would rebuild that engine. A 30 minute burn probably did some damage. A rebuildable block from a junkyard only costs about $100 and is probably less likely to be damaged than one out of a fire damaged vehicle. If you do decide to use it start with a good cleaning and...

    Serpentine setup

I have my pulleys arranged the way you have shown but I had to do the belt wrap differently. Mine goes crank, AC, idler, idler, Alt, water pump, back to crank. I had to go that way or the belt would hit the water pump inlet. The belt squeals when I run the ac and the engine is cold but stops...

if i were to purchase an SL-C

I believe that the SL-C is similar to the GT40 kit. Most of what you need is small stuff. I needed a fuel system (pumps, filters, fuel lines, regulators), belts, hoses, ignition system, dash switches in addition to what you have listed. Did you include computer and harness in your budget...

    What resin to use?

Can you get around the binder issue with epoxy by wetting both sides of the strand mat with epoxy?

    What resin to use?

I am by no means an expert but I have used epoxy resin to do some work on my RCR 40. It is my understanding that you can put epoxy over poly but not the other way around. If you use epoxy, as I have, you need to be sure to use an epoxy primer over it or you may have issues with your paints and...
