You can use a laser as a guide but trust your eyes more than the laser. Cars usually are not symmetrical enough to use a laser.

Have you tried fitting the rear clip yet? I think you will have problems with the mufflers hitting the clip. I had to cut a pie section from my collectors to lower them.
