    Access Hole for Front Suspension

The way I set up the pedal box I thought it was going to be really hard to get at the nut on that side. Once I moved a couple of hoses it was not so bad. I talked myself out of it before you guys did.

    Access Hole for Front Suspension

I have opted against the holes. The driver's side nut is hard to get to but not impossible. The access holes would only cut a few minutes off removal of the arm.

    Access Hole for Front Suspension

I am considering adding two access holes to get at the front lower control arm bolts. The holes would make removal of the bolts for the lower arms much easier. The holes would be a little over 1 inch to clear a 15/16 socket. The proposed location for the holes is indicated in blue on the...

Care & Feeding of Knock-Off / On wheels

I don't buy the road debris arguement. I think it is unlikely that debris would strike the spinner, and if it did what's to say it would not hit the top of the spinner rather than the bottom. I would bet on the self tightening issue being key. Racers are probably just using enough torque to...

    Jonathans RCR 40 Build

I got the breathers from a Marine Supply store. I don't remember where but I don't think you will have troubles finding them. Marine Supply is also a good place to source the fuel filler hoses. Jim, I plan on running the Dragon in it next year.

    Jonathans RCR 40 Build

I have been pretty busy over the last few weeks on the car but it is hard to remember everything I got done. I remember doing the install on the entire AC system. Mounting the reservors for the brakes. Installing a keyless start security system. Doing a bunch of body alignment. Roughing in...

    Jonathans RCR 40 Build

I also got the body latches mounted over the weekend. Who would have thought that it would take an entire day to mount them. I had to weld a 90 degree braket to the J hooks on the body and weld an extension on the latch side hook to make them longer.

    Jonathans RCR 40 Build

Today the glass guy mounted the windshield. I am happy with the results. It took them over two hours. They had to grind down a few spots to get it to fit right. The extra time paid off in the results:

Over the weekend I permanently attatched the roof. I had to make a shim out of 1/4 inch plywood to get the roof to the height I wanted. You can see the shim in black in front of the dash.

Did Lance wreck his SPF 40?

I guess most of us are a little insane then. I put about 10K miles a year on a Cobra replica now and intend on driving my GT40 on the street once it is completed as well. I tend to think of my toy cars as being 4 wheeled motorcycles. I drive a motorcycle as well. Glad to hear no one was...

    Removing suspension bushes

They do make a special press that works ok. I have pressed our a lot of bushings with it. It also works well on ball joints and U joints. Harbor Freight Tools - Quality Tools at the Lowest Prices

    RCR's Next car should be.....

I like the design. I don't think you could pull off that shape with a longitudinal engine though. It does not look like enough room from the cockpit to the rear axle. A transverse mount engine could be packaged in that body though.

Those are some beautiful renderings. Dan, did you do create them?
