Moved - forum discussion on cars for sale, GTD for sale

Re: GTD for sale I knew that wouldn't be the end of it. Ron, stick to your guns. The rules are in place for a reason. There seems to be a select few that always think they can do as they please. Perhaps Simon can take a time out and review the rules to see if he can abide by them. Isn't...

Moved - forum discussion on cars for sale, GTD for sale

Re: GTD for sale I believe the least expensive membership is $35.00. Surely worth the price to advertise his car for sale to a target audience. While it might "seem[s] nuts!" to you, it is one of the forum rules which you have difficulty accepting.

Moved - forum discussion on cars for sale, GTD for sale

Re: GTD for sale It is actually quite simple, Simon. Have your friend pay the minimal subscription to advertise his car for sale and you just expanded the forum by one more member who has paid for advertising his car for sale. You advertising it for FREE and then having potential buyers...

    Any boiler maintenance/repair members?

Al, at the suggestion of the plumbing supply store, I bought a vacuum gauge and tested the system. Vacuum was too high. Cause of the problem was then diagnosed to a partially clogged fuel supply line. Purchased a chemical clean kit and "Larry" the plumbing supply counter person was kind enough...

    Motor won't start

Tim, I would replace cap and rotor. Quick check, clean up/sand the top and edge of the rotor, inside of the cap at wire pickup points. Pull the center anode down a little inside of the cap to make sure it is making contact with top of the rotor (usually on a spring) and try and clean the tip if...

    Motor won't start

Tim, you state your getting spark into the distributor but not out, so I would re-check the cap & rotor. How clean are the contact points and gap between end of rotor and cap as well as anode inside cap which rides on top of rotor?

    Count down to Delivery

Marc, congratulations. How old is the concrete floor. I was advised I had to wait approx. 30 days for the concrete to cure prior to intsalling my lift. Just an FYI.

    Any boiler maintenance/repair members?

Thanks Al. The flue is clean. I was tired of paying for the service contract by way of higher fuel prices, so the one year I don't take it, an issue arises. I'll wait and see what effect, if any the de-sludger has. I haven't touched the air settings and don't think it has ever been adjusted...

    Any boiler maintenance/repair members?

Doug & Al, thanks for the replies and suggestions. Al, I performed all of those steps except adding the sludge remover, prior to posting. Today I even swapped the old nozzle back in. I will go to home depot and add the sludge remover and hope for the best. Thanks again, and if anyone else has...

    Any boiler maintenance/repair members?

I am hoping there is a boiler maintenance/repair member who can assist me. I have a Vaillant boiler with a Beckett AFG burner. Nozzle is 1.10 @ 80 degree B. I performed routine maintenance, changed filter, screen on pump, new nozzle, cleaned and adjusted electrodes, and disassembled boiler for...

Teach me about seam grinding puh-lease

Alex, that is just one of the blocks you can use. Longer ones are available as well as any piece of scrap wood which is handy. You can staple the end of the paper to the end of the block if need be. Would not start at 1500 grit. Probably start around 180 and see the effects. Hard to tell...

Teach me about seam grinding puh-lease

I would lose the orbital and do it all by hand. Use a sanding block and cut the paper into a strip, probably about one inch wide, affix that in the center of the block and sand the seam. It will lessen the damage to the surrounding gelcoat but should still have the benefit of the full block for...

    New garage

Gents the foundation is in for the new garage and it was suggested that I install lights in the slab under the lift. The electrical supply houses I called did not know what I was talking about. If anyone has a supplier/link for the lights, it would be appreciated. Same goes for anchors or any...
