Paddock Subforum - Index it or not?

While some members have approached this subject from the point of view of don't-open-threads-that-may-offend, it is just as much about convenience and focus and not having to step over postings from a forum you are not interested in. Ron's solution provides customisable content which is a win...

Paddock Subforum - Index it or not?

Ron, Another technical option which might be simpler would be to have two options for New Posts: ... FAQ Community New Posts New Posts+Paddock and users click on what they feel like at the time.

Paddock Subforum - Index it or not?

There is of course a technical solution: there could be a section in our profile/settings where the forums are listed with a checkbox next to each where we could individually specify what is indexed for ourselves.

Seems to me that Michael Schumacher's aborted comeback this year as fill-in for Massa would have got him thinking about racing again and it is hard to put those thoughts and emotions back in the box. Then he gets an offer from his old mate Ross Brawn to join what will be a well-funded team...

    Best GT40 replica for racing

Have a read of Iain Pretty's build thread: http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-build-logs/22164-rf-117-a.html An impressive car. His mission statement: "Build a car capable of winning in Group 2 Racing in Australia".

    audi 016 final drive conversion

I should also add that I have done about 7,000 km since the gearbox upgrade last year (e.g. see http://www.gt40s.com/forum/roaring-forties-gt40s/28080-visit-rf-factory.html). All is well so far.

    audi 016 final drive conversion

Joe, All that is required to install the 3.22 or the 2.92 ratios is a disassembly and reassembly of the gearbox (preferably adding the strengthening plate in the process). This obviously needs to be done by a gearbox specialist. No modifications to the transaxle housing are required. I...

    audi 016 final drive conversion

This has been discussed before; e.g. see my thread: http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-tech-powertrain-transaxles/26058-audi-016-cw-p-2-92-ratio.html Albins (Albins offroad gear - products: Accessories) has made my ratio of 2.92; other threads describe 3.22. Albins is able to make other custom...

The interesting thing about Brawn at Honda is how one person can make so much difference. How did he do it? He can't do it all himself by a long way. Presumably he recruited a few key people. In the end all he can do is allocate resources and take a direct technical interest in what he sees as...

    Early morning tour of Paris.

It has been suggested that the director drove a Merc and added a Ferrari soundtrack. There is one point where the car's left wheels mount a kerb to get around something in a narrow street - would a Ferrari have enough clearance to be able to do this and to do it as smoothly as it does?

    Visit to RF factory

Earlier this week I finished a short break driving around SE Australia in my GT40 and visiting various friends and family: Sydney - Albury - Melbourne - Renmark - Adelaide - Hay - Sydney. The route (3500+ kms) was like a figure eight on its side with the crossover at Ouyen. Near Albury I...

I need a critical dimension from your cars guys.

On mine it is about 490mm from centre of output flanges to rear of gearbox (Audi 016) and about 580mm to outside of lower part of rear clip (lower outside edge of opening for exhaust pipes).

    Complete beginner

Hi Fred and Carlo, I am an old Adelaide boy but living in Sydney now. I have built an RF and I know there are several RFs in Adelaide.
