I know other guys were looking to get their rear view mirrors re-silvered. Have just had mine done at Duttons Glass and Mirrors based in Holloway Road, Birmingham (0121 622 1221). Cost £10+vat, and I'm really pleased with it. So if anyone needs anything re-silvered then try these people...

Zircotec high performance coatings, ceramic coatings, engine, automotive, motorsport, exhaust manifold and header coatings. I have only tried it on exhausts, but its good stuff and the web site does say it works on copper pipe.

As long as you have given it some thought and know that those things will not be going through those panels then you're good to go. Just as an after thought have you considered having your pipes ceramic coated? More expensive, but a better finish and would help control heat in the cabin.

To use a Carb you will probably need an engine block pre 1986. You might get away with pre 1992 depending on the Carb. If you find one pre 1975 your laughing. Section 02B of the IVA manual I sent you.

For a 97 block, you will certainly need EFI. You may get away without cats. But I don't think there is a way for a carb to pass emissions for a 97 engine. So with that engine your probably looking at about another £2000 to £2500 to get it running, not including fuel system mods.
