    Classic HorsePower Scratch GT40

Yes, that camera angle gives a different picture of the situation. Unfortunately it reveals another thing that you may or may not wish to address. The rule in race cars and airplanes is to never place a radial load on the threads of a fastener. Under stress the threads will distort and the hole...

    Classic HorsePower Scratch GT40

You might consider swapping that AN-365 nut for a thinner AN-364 to get a bit more clearance for the top shock mount. It is in shear.

    Fiberfab

Interesting history of Fiberfab. Back in the early '70s, I bought a completed kit from a fellow here in Tucson. It was a VW platform chassis & engine version- VERY basic. The engine had such little compression that I could turn the crank by hand. It continually overheated on longer drives so I...

    Thermal barriers

I used something similar (I think) to improve the heat rejection on my firewall. It is a woven zirconia fiber with an aluminized facing.

Does anyone here have an EV?

"...the diesels range was around 360ish..." Really? My Dodge 3500 has a range of 620 miles.

    Brake servos advice

This comment doesn't address brake servos per se but It concerns something that can happen to a brake system. In the late Sixties I was driving my Ferrari 250 GTE on the street in Charlottesville, VA. Traffic stopped ahead and I pushed on my brake pedal... there was a loud "BANG" and NO BRAKES...

    Brake servos advice

Your choice of brake pads will make a big difference in in your car's stopping power. Generally pads with "FF" rating will offer the highest coefficient of friction. One "F" is the cold rating and the second "F" is the hot rating. Each type of pad has different characteristics and you may want...

    Another Fuel Pump Thread!

Northern AZ and southern UT have many places to visit that are well worth seeing. If you were going to be there in August I would suggest visiting the Bonneville Salt Flats (about 80 miles west of Salt Lake City) for Speed Week. I guarantee you would enjoy the unique experience. Other places not...

    Another Fuel Pump Thread!

Beware of those fuel filters. I had the bowl gasket blow out of one in my Porsche 911 and it burned to the ground. In a mid/rear engine car you are the last to know that you're on fire.

Does anyone here have an EV?

Here in Arizona the A/C is a vital feature.

    Camber front

In a race car, Ackerman is largely academic. The tires are running at fairly large slip angles which defeats the whole purpose of Ackerman. On a street car it matters.

What happens to the range when you turn on the A/C in hot weather?

    Homebuilt Mid-Engine Sports Racer

While looking through my computer files, I found the computer data that I used to build the suspension on my black Mirage. The front is based on the popular Mustang II geometry and the rear uses a slightly modified Porsche 996 5-link uprights and geometry. Chassis pick- up points are specified...
