The Price of Transaxles - Why are Transaxles Expensive?

I have no issue with profit, however, as pointed out it is not an unchartered territory. Using existing components could increase profits, I would think. I already have a train set for my grandkids.:)

The Price of Transaxles - Why are Transaxles Expensive?

I have to fall into the baffled category. If I'm not mistaken the original T44s were based around the top loader gears. That would cut costs signicantly, I would think. A case is needed and a shaft or 2 to "unify" the components in the case...but DAMN. It would seem that the longer it takes to...

    Climate change

It would appear that your post reflects your views, which from your position would be "left wing" or more palatable "Liberal". As a Libertarian I think those same words accurately describe the "left Wing","Liberal" position too. Both sides of the equation have an arrogant and ignorant view that...

    ZF sealing nuts group buy

Wouldn't be just as effective, and probably cheaper, to use copper sealing washers under the regular nuts. For that matter, even some acorn nuts. They are easily replaced and available everywhere. Works well on Ford 8" and 9" pumpkins as well as millions of Japanese bikes.

Flat plane crank in a SBF?

Like many things over the years( overhead cams,4 valve heads,etc.)technology/metallurgy were not up to the demands they created. Many of these were created in auto infancy( early 1900s) and shelved until many decades later. I suggest the same with the flat crank. They were tried extensively at...

    I didn't notice the cost originally...OWWW.

    Ricardo 390 gear upgrade

That would take the "load" off that poor underpowered supercharged engine.

    Death of a GT......

If it hits e-bay, I'll bet that you almost buy a complete car for what I've seen some of those parts go for. It does look like the driver was fairly unscathed so I will add, better that than an original.

Group Purchase of GT40 Drawings for Public Use

Rune, your sig line suggests that you are fabricating from the 2500( or was that 2600) drawings. That would seem to indicate that you have them or access to them. Is that the case. So I ask you, can you get a full set or are you in some blood pledge that prevents you from doing so? I looked...

    Painless Performance wiring

I hadn't heard that. although it could be true. I know, from a current run a round, that Hot Rod Air is on the brink. I am going to the Hot Rod Trade show in Indy next week and should know something then.

I'm still in for $100. I'll leave it to those more knowledgeable as to their value. I think they should be in Public Domain as well.

Moved - forum discussion on cars for sale, GTD for sale

I have to support Ron's position. Much like Ron, I have sold many things on E-bay and it is not free. There is no such thing as a free lunch. Even an unassembled collection of parts is worth an advertising fee to a target audience. I would allow any giveaway items should get a free listing, but...

    Gurney Weslake for real!

I would have edited my last post if I had remembered sooner, but it was the Tunnel Port heads that used the Y-block rocker assemblies, not the G-W heads. They are my 2 favorite 60s SB heads, but they were the only 2 that were anything special, and I confused the appointments of the two. I do...

    Gurney Weslake for real!

My recollection , which is from when they were produced, is that they use what were once Y-block rocker assemblies. They share the same bore spacing as the Windsors and were shaft mounted and adjustable. Now, that may have been in development, but I believe that is what were used. There is a big...

Group Purchase of GT40 Drawings for Public Use

Re: Original Chassis Drawings Are you saying that the 250+( at least that was my read) prints only contain the pedal assembly drawings and other minor stuff?? Seems like a lot of sketches for so few things. If it IS only those items, I'd probably have to retract my above post. A little...

    Healthcare

I like the sound of that Pete. However, I think that 70 is far too old to have to wait. Since we are so fond of tying up things together, make it part of the first SS payment. I'm afraid that some 70 year olds eyes are not up to putting those 4 bullets to their most effective use. If you allowed...

    Got the B&stard !

If other countries are as screwed up as our's, they have too many non violent criminals in jail to put the really bad ones. In the US, there are more "reefer" smokers in jail than all other crimes combined. Most or many were employed and contributing, but the powers that be feel it is better to...
