Wheels finally came monday. It has taken me a few days to cool off enough to write about it. Good news! I am ordering a set of CCW Hybrid wheels tomorrow! Fuck, LB Forged rammed it to me good. I will do a laundry list of defects- 1. Front correct at 19x12. Rear is a 19x14.5. Supposed to be a...

Yup! I have been staring at pics of that car for over a year now. Have lifted a couple small ideas from it. Arguably, one of the best new car designs out there in my opinion. Definately a future classic.

    Anodizing the Suspension

I am going to be anodizing quite a bit and was thinking the suspension also. Price really depends on who you take it to. I found a local aerospace parts maker/finisher that would do a whole tub of parts for $40. This "tub" is supposedly big enough for me to fit 4 wheels and many small parts. I...

    Mark's GT-R Build

If you are dead set on using that air cleaner assembly, I would atleast go on ebay and find a stainless reducer. You really need to get the fernco plumbing drain reducer out of there. They are not rated for much heat at all and very flexible. Has the engine been tuned maf or map?

    Suspension Lubrication

I have a feeling you got the Cerulean from some of my posts. Like Howard was saying, you don't really want to gob it on so that stuff can easily stick to it. I just put on enough to coat the rod end, then wipe all excess off. Even that very almost nonexistent film will drop the drag coeffiecent...

Thanks Dan. Ya, now it only sticks up about an 1/8" from the body line. Will probably paint body color also.

    Dan's Build

Ya, Ken got it answered already. Luckily you asked, you would have been one unhappy camper to get all your adjusters in to turn on, and have in a bad rotation. Lol.

Had to get doors mounted to continue on the roof. Didn't feel like making my own hinge, so, I "frenched" one of the original ones in today. The body is very thick right there, so routed out about 1/8" of the original body line, And since my roof line is higher in that area now, I could build up...

    Dan's Build

I have tested both the Hella 90mm housings, and 60mm housings with the 55watt. Let sit on for two hours in garage with zero airflow, and they were still fine. The Hella ones are built well enough to handle the extra heat. The 35watt would create even less heat. The cut off line with each size...

    Dan's Build

Looks good Dan. I would try to get reviews on any led headlight, or bulb, you were thinking of first. Some are just garbage, and some are only good enough for a normal street car. You run a good possibility to out drive your headlights in an SLC, so anything less than stellar light output won't...

Got the word, my wheels are still ANOTHER 2 weeks out, so have been working on the roof and scoop. Both roof panel and scoop were first epoxied on using Fusor 102, then a fill of Bondo Hair, then finished out with a coat of bondo. Once panels can be flipped over, an additional layer of fg will...

Since I had people asking about the P-51 stuff, I will just put it here of what I have. Appears it is all on microfilm. Copies of original catalog of what may be original blueprints, when they were blue. They are alphabetized, and it appears I am missing film I, and Q. Unless they put those two...

Great. They atleast might know if it is just a box of garbage, or if it is worth anything. I am kind of a WW2 buff. I wanted to start collecting stuff. I found a guy selling 180 piece Italian medal collection for $750 for the whole lot. Figured it was a good deal, so bought it without...

Lol. Looks pretty close. That pic reminded me, I happen to have all of the build and parts catalogs of the P-51. They are on old film. No idea if they are worth anything. I guess to someone probably.

Sketch of the window design. Holes will be drilled out for vents. Should look cool over the clear top itb intake. Pic showing the new spot that the roof will stop, compared to original. That area is directly under the scoop opening, so I will put a baffle to direct air to the horn intakes...

    Scotts build thread

Been waiting for wheels to come before finalizing the rear, so figured I would move onto making the new roof section. A piece of cardboard worked best to get the slight hump needed in the middle, turning it into a compound curve. Did the engine cover/scoop yesterday. Nearly smoothed and...
