How would you design a new GT40 from the ground up?

The Germany GT40 does look great and their WEB site is very intresting. Does anyone know any more about their car. PS Jim & GT, I also have the F-word. A Testarossa, great car - nothing beats mid engine and lots of torque. But it is too heavy.

    2002 GT40

If Ford builds it who sells and services. Most Ford dealers can't keep an Escort running, and the gouging on the "new" T-Bird would make a Honda dealer blush. Maybe Jaguar?

    Window Advice Needed !

I was reading that there was one original GT40 modified with a three section door window with middle section "roll-up", but converted back. This would be very nice for a street car, especially for driver's side (tolls, etc). Anyone have pictures or thoughts?

    GT 40 replicas

The MK 1 at B-J sold for $375,000 and it has a history and is "put together". I think the "box of parts GT40" may be way over priced. [ January 19, 2002: Message edited by: Jay Thompson ]

    Trevor Legate's New Book

Re: Trevor Legate\'s New Book I found the summary of the prize money very intresting - I think now days you would have to add a few zeros. The other was the letter to H - M concerning their honoring Fords request to hold back. Book is highly recomended.

    Headlamps

Bill, the lens is what will be left or right, they may have left hand drive lamp housings. If not get manuf. and model number. Local parts supply should have left hand rive versions. Most likly Cibie. If not available locally can be ordered from companies like performance parts or tweeks.

    Installing Panels

One of my major hesitations to building vs turn-key is the attachment of the panels, and how much metal work is involved. Sunce it appears a number of people are well into this phase could you give some insight into the work/problems with fitting and attaching the panels. Thanks Jay
