    Warped dash - solutions?

Ben - On my car the tabs mount flush to the chassis with no clearance issues. The forward edge of the dash will need to be supported but you shouldn't have to cut the dash to make it fit - other than around the roll bars. Here's how my dash looks just clamped in place. Dave L

    Warped dash - solutions?

Tim - You could make a basic fixture out of wood to mount the dash on then aim a heat lamp on the warped area to relax the fiberglass. It may take a bit of time and possibly some weight on the warped edge to bring it back into alignment. Fiberglass can bend and flex quite a bit -...

I ran out of time this weekend but was able to fabricate the rear window mold support structure and glass it into place. I still need to run some glass up the sides of the supports and down onto the mold to provide additional rigidity then it's time to pull the mold off......I hope it comes...

I'm curious if this feature could be programmed into the ISIS system? Has anyone spoken with Jay to find out? Dave L

Randy, I'm not sure. I can see where the struts would stabilize the clam when in the fully open position but my concern would still be when lifting the clam from one side. I would think the clam would still want to twist. I'll be down at Carriage House later this month to add foam core to...

Rear Clam Flex When Lifting (could apply to the front as well): I know the rear clam flexes quite a bit if one attempts to lift it from one side and I believe that is why so much of the "window" cutout remains. I'm just curious if anyone has considered - or perhaps already tried vacuum...

Arts & crafts day...... I decided a while ago that I'd like to use a fiberglass or carbon fiber rear window in place of the stock plexi-glass. RCR offers GRP and CF rear windows for $300 and $550, respectively though you'd have to confirm the prices with Fran. However, I like little...

    Steering column alignment

Ken - Not to belabor the subject but have you installed the column/steering wheel assembly and the seat in the car to test the fit? The steering wheel on my early SLC is a bit further forward than yours appears to be and clearance to the seat is "close". I'd be concerned that you won't be able...

    Best idea. Ever.

Alex - I finally gave up on HRP. Have you checked with Swift Springs? I'm not sure if they have what you're looking for but they shipped mine the day I called and I had them in 3 days instead of 3 months! Dave L

Thanks guys. The spider won't be off the chassis for long and I do have the side pods secured together at the correct chassis width. I haven't noticed any sag but it's possible. I typically have the spider on the chassis and the doors set in place but I haven't set the windshield - of course...

Wayne - Very nicely done! I'd love to see any in-process photos you have if you don't mind sharing them. What are your plans for the new seats - will you be upholstering them? Dave L

    SLC Aftermarket Seat Option

I agree, and I think many folks, including myself, would love a seat like that. Unfortunately, for that specific seat ayway, I don't think it would ever fit because it's way too wide. But from a style and comfort standpoint I hear you. Dave L

    SLC Coolant Tank Group Buy?

Thanks for the positive feedback on the tanks guys - much appreciated. Rob - All I need is more time! Actually, Ben came up and helped me remove the spider last weekend so I can finish cutting out the remaining openings (outside of the shop). I'm working on the SLC as I find time but it's...

    SLC Aftermarket Seat Option

Fran - Will this will be a fixed back seat? I'm looking forward to seeing what you've come up with. I'm trying to find a seat that will work for my wife. She's had issues with her back and the original stock seat just won't work. Dave L

    The Emergence Of Real Conservatism.

I'm speachless.......I now know why I only briefly visit the "Paddock". Come back to reality guys - there is more to life than all of this political BS.
