    Big toyota power

I'm fairly active on the Lextreme forum and have two engine projects going with the earlier 1UZ motor. Our forum owner has torn down one of these new 1UR motors and done a photo expose on it, and the conclusion most of us have is that it's going to be a very expensive motor to modify and get big...

    Picture size/resize

There's an MS PowerToy called Image Resizer that is free and works great for this. Two clicks is all it takes to resize one or a batch of photos. You can download it here: http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/ImageResizerPowertoySetup.exe

    g50 transaxle

As a 2nd source for the G50 and G50/52 you should contact Roger Brown or Bobby Hart @ California Motorsports. They won't be cheap, but their quality is superb, and FWIW, the SSC Aero, which currently holds the record for the fastest production car in the world, runs one of their transaxles...

vacation time in Italy..plz explain me why all talk of Cuba..

Several of my British friends have said Cuba was the best holiday they've had in years (and these guys are well traveled.) Great food, warm & friendly people, hot & humid climate with lots of sunshine, cheap beer, etc. Told them they ought to try Cancun; it has all the above too.

    Ferrari-powered SL-C?

For comparison, here's some data for the 5.0l BMW V12. These data were taken by Henry Lawrence, a well known BMW V12 engine builder in NC: Physical Dimensions bellhousing of block to front of front pulley = 29” valve cover edge to valve cover edge - width...

From the suburbs of Lone Oak Texas (pop 521)

Doc, the early BMW V12's are good candidates, and I think Fran @ RCR may already have an adaptor made for mating to the Porsche G50. These motors can be picked up for cheap (< $1000) on eBay, but then the fun starts. It's easy to get crazy and drop $20K or $30K into one. They're all...

    Out of the box thinking...

Brian, I'm nearly sure that's the Keihin LPG/CNG injector, which you can buy from any Prins dealer for about a third of what RC are charging. In the pic below they're mounted in a common LPG manifold or rail, and are setup for running flex tubes from the barbed nipples to the manifold runners...

    leaking turbo gasket

Hello Lucas, sorry I wasn't referring to a conventional o-ring, but something metallic like you would use to o-ring a head to a block. Here's some new technology that I understand works very well for a drag race team who are running over 45psi boost on a Japanese motor: Helicoflex. They have...

Gary kadrmas (kccorral2075) Has Passed On

Lynn, as mentioned in my PM, I think it would be a wonderful show of solidarity and friendship if we could make a donation to the ACS, under the name of GT40s.com, in memory of Gary. He obviously enjoyed spending time here, and was a valued member. Although most of us never had the...

    leaking turbo gasket

Assuming you're referring to the gasket between the turbo and the exhaust manifold, you must have some very high backpressure in your manifold if you're blowing that gasket! Perhaps O-Ringing the flange & turbo would be a solution, or consider going to a larger A/R turbine housing?

    Lance's GT40 Australia Build

Lance, just curious, why did you decide to keep the dissies and the OEM ignition system? I'd have thought you'd be using a crank triggered ignition with some COP's? Did you need to keep them because of your EMS? John

    F1 Ignition Systems

Cheers David, much appreciated. There was some speculation in some other hotrodding circles that the F1 teams had gone 100% to CD ignitions, however it would appear just the inverse is true.

    F1 Ignition Systems

Just curious what ignition technology is favored in F1 and other high end racing these days? Back around 2000 the F1 teams were pretty evenly split between capacitive discharge and inductive (transistor). Each has its strengths. Does anyone know what's being favored now?

Additionally, I think if you post an image link to an image on another forum, which has the same type of "login" requirements as this one, then the members here must be members there also to see it.
