The torque spec's on the Daytona is 220 ft lbs so you gotta crank on it. I think yer thinkin about the knock off...

    Zf transaxle question

I bought two complete ZF tarnsaxles (Pantera) from a parts manager at a Mecury dealer in Seattle in 1977 as I worked next door at Ford. They were both replaced due to bearing noise mostly in low gear. There was a Mercury service bulletin about the issue that customers were complaining about. The...

first year; lots of other events going on close buy, only 20 cars showed for display. Had lots of people walk in to check out the cars and fun games going on. The auction did $3,380.00 for the Head & Neck Cancer Alliance, as 100% of the $$ went straight to the fund. Lots of good eats (and...

What number is my CAV? How do you read the VIN#s?

I found a wiring diagram glued to the under side of the inspection plate/access panel that un-screws in front of the windsreen, exposing the electric's and foot pedals. I ran it throught the copier, it took two seprerate passes to get it all.

    newbie

It's the passion and interest that counts..............................They are all just nuts, bolts, and some body panels. If you ran any car through a shreader, a similar pile of crap would be at the other end. It would be hard to tell if it was an original or a Fiber Fab at that point....

Fuel backing up in the tanks

Similar issue with the last "early" CAV 40; Has vent lines vented into the air filter housing, (got it through Califonia emissions as it was assembled in that state). On hot days with full tanks will expand up the lines and bleed into the air filter housing and run into the carb air horn. Just...

    Side Stripe thoughts

I found one of the model kit companies of the 60's did a box art with the "Ford" at the rear wheel. It was on a Mk 1 with wire wheels, blue top of nose, white body with thin tri-stripe over the top. This always seemed odd to me after seeing all the Ford pro-mo films and adds with the "Ford" at...

    Your best circuit

I've only done most of the west coast tracks; (USA) It's gotta be the one closest to home, Pacific Raceways just South of Seattle as I have thousands of laps there in the last 40 years. You get to where you know the fast ways through certain corners and when the rookies arrive you smoke'um and...

Does anyone know a good auto transporter?

Tim: It wasn't Stewart Transport. It was a broker located in Illinois. They owned no trucks or equipt we found out. Just a boiler room full of phones being answered to take orders. Transporters would contact them for hauls to fill there loads going or coming back in most cases.

Does anyone know a good auto transporter?

:veryangry:BE Careful. Listen to all the information that was given above! Don't go "cheap"! You will be very sorry. They will take your money and put you on a list for carriers to pick up according to your dollar amount the broker set to get your business. Then you wait for a hungry hauler to...
