Why are we celebration the birth of the GT40 this year???

It's the new word order. Just walk into Walmart or Target or ? anywhere after July and see isles of Christmas items on display. It's also Daytona Cobra coupe's 50th in 2014. Plans are in the making for an East coast event this time. I think Mr. Brock said @ Limerock Raceway.

Has anyone adapted a space saver spare tire?

I was dink'en around this winter and had the wheels off both cars at the same time, Peter Brock Daytona coupe and CAV #99. I fit the 6 spoke BRM wheels onto the Daytona as the pins are the same spacing. Looked Bitch-en! The rears didn't fit due to the offset on the rear. Point of the story is...

    Snap Ring Pliers

Bill: I found a set of 8 at Harbor Freight sizes .038 to .090. They are cheeze-ball ones from China and are reversable. They have worked ok so far when I was in a pinch. About $16.00 for the set including the storage box. The Snap-On dealer wanted About $45.00 for just the one size I needed. I...

Salt Walther GT40 buried in mud story

I recall reading about this car find about 6 -to-8 years ago. I think it was in a monthly Mustang publication. I went through two piles so far, but have not located it. rotor refacing

Make sure "all" mating surfaces are spotless and free of any surface rust on the hub to rotor contact areas. Even a little amount of rust from humidity in the air can add up once it's measured at the outer perimeter of the rotor. It sounds minute, but adds up to enough at the outer surface to...

    Total production?

About 2/3 of the total production. Although I discovered that the full range of build numbers has not been used. The last one mentioned was #138, but early on they assigned groups of numbers to the selling dealers. Some were not ordered with the assigned number as sales fell short at that dealer...

All ahead full speed! Can't wait to see the finished product using the Gt40 styling ques. Looks very good, and closer to the original that all of us grew up liking. Better than the bulky Ford GT version and the later concept drawings that followed last year in failed promises. A little bigger...

    Perpetually leaking wilwood reservoirs?

I pulled both the clutch master and brake reservoirs apart and installed a "fatter" O-ring at the neck and it slowed down the leakage to a seap! Now it's 98% better.......I went to a hydrolic shop that specializes in pumps and hoses for industrial/farm applications and we matched up an o-ring...
