I went up and down on the sizes of the o-rings at the top cap neck and finally wrapped the ring base with tefflon tape to stop the seapage there. I double clamped the hose ends. The cap area has been dry for 4 years now. The hoses are showing slight weapage again, after 4 years.( SPF Daytona Coupe)

Is this weight savings for racing? For street use my question is durability/strength like when you dodge that pot hole but still catch the edge. "Bang" and the top of the main shaft snaps off. The body of the cylinder made of alumium verses steel would not make any difference. What about cost...

As well as the top surface curvachure of the front fender over the wheel opening. This was on the GT40 MkII not the Daytona coupe. And as far as build quality...

Carefull, the rods shown are 1969 Boss 302, which is a whole other animal than the earlyer "hi-po" 289 engine.........

Apply a spark (volts) to a carb, the spark will find the path of least resistance through the carb body of which is float bowls, chambers, etc, with volital fuel residing and "POOF" it's whats for dinner time!................................Sparky
