    All Porsche powertrain in SLC?

Had to service my GT2 this spring. They are wonderful machines, but any car that for a plug change starts by remove tail lights, bumper and rear wheels first is not going to be fun. I was amazed by the cost variance between vendors and even found some of the parts on Amazon as Bosch parts like...

    nemesis / lmp2 question - EV ?

I think Fran's diesel idea would be easier and $$ ahead for a long time. Turbo diesel and sub 2000lbs would be pretty cheap transportation without mileage limits. But I get the EV interest, just think a tubo diesel is still easier. The EV route though without doubt if enough coin thrown at...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

John, you know Ray T., at the track, with the Ligenfelter bronze C6 is a big machine gun fan too. If you haven't met him yet, He's a hoot from Indy....I'm sure Chris can put you in touch.

    RCR's Next car should be.....

John, as an owner of a couple MG's and a Hoosier, I can't clear my mind for your abbreviation. What is an "MG" mount to be installed on the roof?

    RCR's Next car should be.....

Jennifer, couldn't agree with you more. Many of the CanAm cars of that era would be great but the McLaren M20 has always been one of my favorites at vintage events. It does seem like the chassis would carry over nicely and I like the scale of this variation nicely for a street car, but the...

Fran! Its calling your name: 2002 Cadillac LMP1 LeMans Prototype | eBay While the rest of enjoy your products, it would seem fitting for you to own the original bad boy.

    GT-R

At first, 2m sounds wide and it is.......but I parked my GT2 between a GT and a Testerossa at this weekends car show. "Top Gear" always makes fun of the GT's width to the point you'd think its the widest sports car ever. Not only does the Testerossa's rear look wider, it is the widest of all...

    Brake line leak

I'm sure you have, but have you completely disconnected and looked for scratches or burs? Really dumb question, did you possibly flare the SS at wrong angle? There are two accepted flarings for brake lines.

Reading between the lines: Fran says us Americans are too fat. :D He knows us so well.

    GT-R

Ugh as much as the LS platform makes sense in my head, I just can't put a Chevy in a Ford styled body. My heart just won't let me, but then again I'm a Ford/Porsche guy so I'm biased. How much head room does the body allow? Trying to figure out how to ask for a measurement as I'm still...

    RCR D type thread

" There is a large removable panel in the tunnel for access to the transmission." I still remember think WT*, when I opened the shop manual to remove engine out of my XKE. It read something like this: 1. disconnect battery 2. remove seats 3. etc What, remove seats is step #2 on removing...

    New(to me) water pump system

Electric Water Pumps Bringing Engine Cooling Into The 21st Century With Davies Craig - StangTV I'm familiar with Davies and cooling. Not a new name, but a group of products that I was less familiar. I haven't started my build, but I've put V8's in the back of other cars and some of these...

    GT-R

Boredom is terrible. I've spent more time researching the Coyote/Modular/Triton engine than I ever cared to do. Still not completely convinced its without drawbacks in this application. I know what an Al Windsor can do and unlike the LSx motors, Haven't seen a large aftermarket "crate" build...

    Aaron's SL-C build...

I've wired a couple cars from scratch and built a few race cars from tubes. BUT this ISIS thing has me concerned. Should I be as it just seems "foreign" to me or will the directions and this forum get me through the hurdles? I've seen it on TV and here and kind of understand the concept...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

There is front and rear mid-engines essentially. From a performance stance, as long as the engine is between the axle center lines, the difference is measurable but not insurmountable. SLR's, F12's and even the lowly Z06 C7 are all that fall into this category for me. Shoot, my brothers...

For those of us, including myself, that whine about weak transaxles: Modified Saleen hits 2,200hp - BBC Top Gear Nice dyno run for chuckles. I'm not sure I've seen low profile tires visually change that much before.

    Mid-engine vette?

I just saw the REAR engine XP-819 Corvette today. It was built like a Corvair on steroids. The rear crossmember was bolted together of 5 pieces of stamped steal. Thank goodness that no matter where GM puts the motors these days......its done SO much better. Mid America had it on display at...

    Aaron's SL-C build...

Depending on how you are using those, couldn't you get something like this and mount the insulation between it and the other surface? I suppose your concept does similar or could do both with a phenolic, nylon or resin spacer/gasket at bracket/frame interface...

    Cars & Coffee - Charlotte

Why, I don't know but I've never appreciated the similarities between the two so vividly. You'd have your work cut out to rival the interior detail, but I think you are giving the exterior a run for the money. (well, I guess saving a bunch of money is part of the appeal :) )
