    RCR's Next car should be.....

I agree with TimB. For most of the people in that niche, the FF provides an entry point. There are soooo many (but less than before recession) street rod companies that make high end components that "can" be assembled to a good standard. It will almost certainly cost more than a FF, but the...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

Care to go into anymore depth on the detest for 904's? Is it the final results, build/manufacturing, limitations of results, limitations of engine choices? We know you can be more verbose than that, Fran :) I'm not wavering from a race car (LMP/leMans), but interested to hear your thoughts...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

Yeah a vintage Indy car that wouldn't need frequent xray checks built with modern geometry and to a sportsman durability level for safety.

    Team QRP

Very impressive and thanks for posting. With a buddy just ordering his 991 GT3, this helps me keep focused of moving away from production based "track cars". Obviously your sweat labor replaces most if not all the coins between the two, but operator cost and truly impressive build skills can't...

    RCR's Next car should be.....

I like the modern super cars as much as the next. BUT I for some reason "think" differently about vintage replicas and modern knock offs. When it comes to modern, I think Fran is going the right way and creating his own mark. Sure incorporating design ideas from current concepts makes sense...

13 hr at VIR 2013..new sponsor too

OK, now I see your point. I was thinking a more basic diesel setup closer to OEM in a chassis. That was like my off target comment to a friend retiring from sportsman racing to focus on banjo playing. I said well at least it won't eat money as fast....he said laughing, "my last banjo was...

13 hr at VIR 2013..new sponsor too

I'm speaking relative, Fran :) We all know that speed costs money. I was talking Formula Mazda....not Miatas. And I'm still going to extend my arm and say a turbo VW costs less to run than my options in maintenance. Build time is what really keeps me from pulling trigger and I need to call...

13 hr at VIR 2013..new sponsor too

Very intrigued. A fun play thing that would be pennies on the dollar to run compared to a traditional track beast. Got some Mazdas that would be fun to play with. Aero package ideas too??? Sweet and amazing that you guys keep pushing the envelope, really against yourself on and off the track.

    Superlite Le Mans

http://www.gt40s.com/forum/rcr-forum-rcr40-slc-p4-mkiv/36398-team-qrp.html Yes, they have been made. I've waited a longtime to see one of these finished. Long enough to see the LMP come to completion and sway me from the dual purpose machine.

Glad you keep posting these things! I strayed from the SLC as a dual purpose machine picking up a mod'd GT2 for that. I have too many street cars anyhow. BUT I am still long the LMP and these posts keep me on target and from straying into a higher maintenance retired race car that I will just...

    LMP Update ?

No evil intended. Just tongue and cheek. Please forgive any misaligned humor or bad feelings. My apologies. SLC on back burner since I picked up a GT2 for multi-use track/street use . SO the LMP is looking more like a choice for me as it will assemble quicker for track use.

    RCR D type thread

Goliaths and heavy, but one of the most beautiful when fully dressed! Amazing how big when sitting on floor next to a 289 Ford.

    LMP Update ?

Now Ron, maybe that is his name and his mother didn't like him. BUT, yes updates? I realize and understand that your not racing currently but anything new? Any new builds?

    Minimizing wing wobble

Was hanging out with builder of the Diasio's and he said they fought wing wobble quite a bit too. After speed reached, things stabilized quite well. Problem isn't with the wing stantions. Alex just needs to drive faster. Honestly, that is one HECK of a brace. Nice skills and craftsmanship...

    Jimer's Build

Congrats JIM!!!!!!!!! love it in red John, Nice to have met you @ Putnam. Good luck on build it looks like its on its way and do look forward to pointing you by! Surprised that Diasio said you didn't remember me from the forum. Anyhow, I'll be back the next two weekends so get one of...

    New transaxles for SLC?

I personally think the decision on transaxle is or should be related to the "car". I think the 930 box is perfect for a 917 or Mclaren. Even doable in a GT40, but would seem slightly out of place in an SLC or LeMans. A 915/930 box is at polar ends to an Italian box so it would seem odd there...

360 Ferrari Engine With Twin Turbos? (Attn: Mesa?)

Kevin: The short answer to your question in my experience is NO. But I say that with a strong caveat because everything said by Fran is 100% correct. The exception or where you see equality is when you go off the beaten path and into seriously premium custom parts. I have found billet rods...
