GT40 MarkII ready to be shipped

Whatever shipper you go with will likely make arrangements with a freelancer. My main concerns were enclosed trailer and insurance. I contacted Matt Hanson at Beacon. He was recommended by Vicki and he was responsive. 401-270-2993 x206

How do drop gears work in L140 Graziano

Thx much for clarifying. I found it does work if the ratios, final drive ratio and tire size are entered. Can’t save the results, but they can be copy/pasted into a spreadsheet.

    AC v-belt pulley

Because Fran called this morning, I think you will be ok. I would give VA another call to see if they will pay back the shipping since it seems the fault was their’s.

    AC v-belt pulley

I spoke with Fran this morning. The Vintage Air kits for RCR40s are supposed to come with a v-belt pulley. Some sort of miscommunication going on. Fran said he is going to call VA and get it sorted out.

Drilling holes in SPF center spine

Guessing that you plan to mount the fire extinguisher in front of the shifter box. Assuming that is the case, I think you could bend a bracket that bolts to the floor on either side of the spine and wraps up and over the spine. Leave a little space between the top of the spine and the bracket...

Drilling holes in SPF center spine

What are you mounting? You might be able to bond on a mount rather than bolt it on. A common solution for the shifter is to mount like the parking brake. For sure if I were to drill, I would pull the lines and tubes out first.

    AC v-belt pulley

Well at least you have an AC to work with. I received my car from RCR in May. Still no word on the AC, steering rack, and axles.

    RCR wiring diagram

Thx for sharing. I am using that one as a starting point. I am thinking to have four relay boards. One for the front clam, one for the rear clam, one under the dash and one near the engine. That way all the switch wiring can be 20 AWG.

    Electric Water Pump How to.

Paul, The TinyCWA controller uses a heat sensor in the intake manifold. I am going to use a separate heat sensor near the radiator for the fans. The pump will circulate water but the fans will not run until it’s hot. In my case I will run the fans for the AC condenser even if the coolant temp...

    Trailer Modifications

Paul, The bottom of the doors are going to be about 1/2” above the top of the sponson. The sponsons are 10-3/8” tall. Either the bottom of the sponson or the bottom of the rocker panels determines the ride height. So adding your desired ride height to the sponson height, plus about 1/2” should...

    Darius - RCR GT40 MK1 Build

Looking good. Maybe too late to make changes now, but I heard that with regards to coolant tubes, 90 degree bends are the equivalent of five feet of straight tube. If you have room, you might want consider 45 degree sweeps. Not sure if this matters with a mechanical water pump.

    GT40 Side Mirrors

Ian, Thx for the suggestion. I had not thought of electric mirrors. The Mini is probably one of the few cars that are small and sporty enough to blend with a GT40. Cheers, Randy

    GT40 Side Mirrors

Lee, Did you get the convex lens? And they still have a narrow field of view? In any case, I plan to install an always-on review mirror/camera. The camera will be in bump on the back of the spider. So I am not as worried about field of view. I am more concerned with rear quarter panel blind...
