Kennedy to RBT/ZF 157t Bell Housing

Gus, it looks like yours. I have added a photo. You can see one of the 1-1/2 inch access holes that were cut for the backwards top studs. This allows removal the trans separately from the bell. Also, I notice a clearance cut on the outside of the starter bulge. This is peculiar to my...

Kennedy to RBT/ZF 157t Bell Housing

I used the Tilton 54-40013 starter. It is a 3 bolt, but you just use 2 bolts with the Kennedy. There are much cheaper SBF mini starters available. But the Tilton will spin the car if you hold the motor still  Sam

Kennedy to RBT/ZF 157t Bell Housing

I went down this road in 2014. See the CAV 180 build thread at: http://www.gt40s.com/forum/gt40-build-logs/42269-cav-180-factory-roller-2.html#post434899 There is an error on the McLeod flywheel part number, it should be 563100, minus the "S" which is the SFI rated part and not compatible with...

    CAV or SPF GT40?

So the CAV is the third photo, the #28 car is CAV #169. It is easy to tell a CAV from the rear, there is no provision for an adjustable spoiler, and the indentation for a euro style license plate is there instead. This has been a fun thread .. and I'm pleased that the conclusion is that the...

    RBT ZF Fluid Replacement

Jeff, just to answer your original question, you can certainly fill from the right side plug. You just can't use it as an "overflow = full" indicator like a Pantera owner would. You'd end up with a gallon of fluid in there. As long as you measure 2.5L as you pour it in, you are ok. The only...

    Texas Cobra Club annual meet

I'd like to, John. Still thinking. I no longer have a trailer and it would have to sit outside for 4 days ... not optimal. Sam

    Avon 275/55/15 tires

275/55-15 on the rear and 225/60-15 on the front. Rims are 10" and 8". The suspension is set a bit too high on purpose right now. My driveway is too steep for this car, so I am using wood planks to bridge the driveway to the street. Sam

    CAV #180 Factory Roller

That's got to be a record, Dave. We in TX were "assisted" by the SEMA model legislation a few years ago. There is now a requirement to employ a currently qualified ASE Master Technician to certify the car is roadworthy. This is the only call for the ASE license I have ever heard of. The OEM...

    CAV #180 Factory Roller

Thanks, good to see the group and show off a little! Weather hit the 70's (F) in Dallas today, so the Cobra's needed some adult supervision :D Note the correct way to park a GT40 in a crowded lot is being observed here ... Sam

    GT40 Car Cover?

Tim the light gray one is the CCC Superweave 99% water resistant material. See front and rear photos below. The black one came from South Africa and I do not know the manufacturer. It is some kind of synthetic stretch material. Sam

    GT40 Car Cover?

Here you go, Gary ... California Car Cover in the Superweave fabric! This stuff does not have a flannel lining, so that means the car needs to be wiped down first  Somehow, I missed that detail, but I like how tight it packs. Shipped direct from Covercraft in Okla. But California Car Cover...

    CAV #180 Factory Roller

Title and registration complete today. It took 45 minutes after I spent hours and hours preparing all the exhibits, getting weighed, and being inspected by an ASE Master Tech. :D Pat, thanks for providing that gasket info. I worked on door alignment some more today and I see some progress. Sam

    CAV #180 Factory Roller

Thanks, Pat! I see what you mean with the hinges. They have marked them already. I will get on that this week, after I am done with the title and registration: clowns, barking dogs, and flaming hoops to jump through, you know, the usual  Do you happen to have the McMaster Carr gasket...

    CAV #180 Factory Roller

Thanks all! John, not this time .. I have all the registration hoops to negotiate. ASE inspector is scheduled for Monday. I'm having it done at a hot rod shop by an actual mechanic as opposed to a state inspection station that will do a less conscientious review. Today I got a temporary tag so...
