    Newark Kit Car Festival

We had something similar on the Saturday, with girls wearing very little draping themselves over the cars. Got a few photos, but not had time to upload them yet, will do when I get chance. Very cold for them, if you look closely you can see the goosebumps!

    Newark Kit Car Festival

All, thanks for the kind remarks in your posts, the whole day was great fun for me, my 40 behaved itself very well and it only needed one fill up on the return journey; got home with half a tank left and a quick calculation says that I was doing around 25mpg. Hope you had a good day on Sunday...

    Newark Kit Car Festival

Paul, as a fellow Yorkshireman (turned soft Southerner) I do hope you can make it. I now know it's Saturday that I will be there. I will need to leave early morning to get there at a reasonable time, but should be fun. Look forward to seeing you all.

John, somehow I missed seeing this one, however as the wife will be in Paris this weekend looks like I might have a day free to blast - sorry cruise up the Fosse way and visit. Not sure which day yet as I know my daughter has something planned on one day. If I do make it I will try to get to the...

    Hello!

Welcome Ron and hope you love yours as much as I love mine, this of course can mean the car or/and the wife ;-) As for putting "stuff" in it a female friend of ours once said, "As long as you have room for a toothbrush and a thong" I started wearing thongs the very next day! Pause for mental...

    Hiyo!

Chris, if you plan to go through medical school and also build a GT40 in the future I'd go for Gynaecology, your going to need it to get into some of the 40s intimate places! Welcome and enjoy.

    GT40 Silencers

Re: Potential GT40 Silencer Supply OK, so I went to the track day and got measued at between 101 and 104 dB. The sound meter I had used previously was therefore pretty good (102) and needless to say they didn't let me on the track :-( At least I had not paid up front so did not lose £109 :-)...

    you left the door open

JG, may I add my welcome too, with a sub note that if you used to race minis and are now moving to GT40s you might not need such quick reaction times, just "wait for the straight" and then punch the go faster pedal, watch the minis disappear behind you:lol:

    GT40 Apparel

Ron, USPS looks like it might be a runner, the 11" x 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". box should get a few items in it. If there is enough interest from the UK you may have a nice little earner going.

    GT40 Apparel

Ron, I am interested if the cost to send to the UK is reasonable or we can get a multiple order going. What is the target price for such things as hats, teeshirts etc? Maybe we could get the members over in the UK to place a big order for multiple items with one shipping cost.

    can you believe this!

I guess the climate will just have to wait to be changed too! So how does one get a job on $289000 a year while having to do nothing for it? Perhaps with that amount of money and loads of time they can all buy GT40s and drive them around, they could then measure how much of an effect they are...

    been lurking for years.....

Hi Ewan (assumed as per above) and welcome to GT40s. As already replied, please avoid the rover lump. It may fit nicely, it may be cheap to source and it may be reliable, but if you are intent on joining in with the "scene" and going to meetings etc then from what I have seen and heard you will...

    GT40 Silencers

Re: Potential GT40 Silencer Supply Andy, sounds good, I am going to try a track day at the end of May and if I fail the noise test I could be interested too. Mine is an MDA with 4 into 1. I will check dimensions and so on before getting back to you. less than 90dB wow, mine were measured at 102...

    Alan Hart UK

The date for my free weekend is the 18th to the 20th June, not early like I thought. I'm supposed to be doing work around the house but a trip in the 40 sounds a better prospect. Alan, how about some more stats on your e-type?

    Alan Hart UK

Max, Your right, and welcome Alan. Of the 60s icons the E type is right up there, I have seen a few replicas over the years, some better than others. One thought regarding the "real/replica" question - I get asked that all the time "Is it real" I usually answer in the same way that I heard...
