To be honest I'm not sure how they achieved this. I have asked but haven't received a response as yet. The only comparison I have is this photo taken before any work was performed.

Engine oil temp on race track

Ok thanks again all who chimed it. I have a GM crate engine L3/376 480hp engine. I’m running a wet sump, external oil cooler and Morso 3quart accumulator. So, after a little more homework I will hold off going to the trouble of adding an engine oil temp sensor mounted after the oil...

Engine oil temp on race track

Thanks for the responses. Jac the oil temp sender unit is mounted in the factory position for the LS3 in the sump/oil pan. I’m going to install a temp sensor just after the external oil cooler. The Digidash can only read one oil temp and I’m not going to the hassle of running another...

Engine oil temp on race track

I've had the SLC on the track on 2 occasions now. First time the LS3 engine oil temp reached 140 degrees C (284F). I Then installed an external oil cooler in the side body ducts with shroud and proper ducting to slow the air speed to allow effective cooling. I'm running Penrite HPR 5 5w-40...

Eric's SLC Project Code Name "Grifter"

Wow Eric superfast progress mate. Be careful driving in its unfinished state, it’s so addictive you won’t be able to get out of it! I think it probably best driven with at least a body on it otherwise you’ll get too many bugs in your mouth from the wide open grin! <!--[if gte mso 9]><xml>...

Kyle you beat me to it. I didn’t want to post yet because I was waiting for the technical details to go with it. Let me set the background to the change to the Bilstein dampers/shocks: The car was being filmed for a TV show and part of that included race track focus with both myself and a...

Eric I took a quick pic this morning sorry for poor quality. The button without a symbol is the 'Horn' and the top left is 'seat belt' light, goes out when seat belt is engaged. Will, Mesa, P Roth & AJ The door mirrors have been changed to series 6/7 FD RX7 mirrors That...

    New SL-C owner

Update: The SLC was certified for NSW registration back in December 2014. The engine tuner managed to get the LS3/480hp engine tuned to comply with all emissions without having to change back to the standard 430hp cam. This was all done on pump fuel, it did take many hours of tuning though...

    Ross SLC first start

WOW John really impressive. Mate with that 442 cubic engine and that cam you'll never have to get out of 2nd gear on suburban roads. My SLC with Ricardo doesn't really enjoy cruising in 4th gear at our suburban speed limit of 60kmh (44 mph) as the RPM is so low given the Ricardo's 'long' gears...
