    GT-Forte GTs40 build

The studs ensure you've max thread engagment without attempting to push the plate away from the engine. Also I think at least one of the studs will foul the flexplate if screwed in too far Lastly I think it helps allign the whole thing when assembling the unit. The starter motor is as you...

    GT-Forte GTs40 build

It fits! :pepper: Trying not to look too surprised  You may need to space the starter motor back so the it doesn't engage with the flex plate at rest (which mine did). Oh and shave the heads down on the starter motor bolts which I think you've found out will foul already.

    Suspension Design

Tyre data is really hard to get hold of but Avon provide some for their racing tyres: http://www.avonracing.co.uk/sites/default/files/STAB%20RIG%20GRAPHS.XLS From this you can clearly see the tyre with 4 degrees of camber in it is generating the largest side force when at max slip angle, so...

    too good to be true?

A guy the local car club here lost a good sum to a eBay scam out of the UK (apparently) on a Lotus twin cam motor. He quizzed the guy at length on details of the motor and got good and detailed answers, which made him think it was legit. He still got scammed and as far as I know no money has...

    The Buffett Rule

From my experience having lived in the USA for 5 years (raised in UK and now living in Australia through choice). When people in the USA say "tax the rich" most people think that means them personally, or if it doesn't mean them personally now it will mean them one day, because everyone in the...

    Magnificent F1 Safety Documentary

I watched the doco on a recent Qantas flight, afterwards felt pretty dark on Mr Chapman etc. However upon reflection I think these things need to be put into the context of the time, safety in general was not regarded in the same way it is today. If you look at the statistics in the link below...

    The 24 Hours of Nurburging . . . ?

It possible to get serious NA HP from a 1UZ-FE, it just takes cash to do... There's some others on YouTube but here's one for example: This is Toyota's LMP1 engine which at the moment looks to be the best petrol engine in LMP1. I don't think it has much in common with the 1UZ though ;)

    917 Scratch Build

Hi Chris, I find gas flow of 6 L/min to be enough, 12 seems to be a lot IMHO, unless you are working somewhere drafty. It's very obvious when air is getting to the weld

Hi Stevo, If you could let us know a bit more about the intention of the project then it might be easier for people to point you in the right direction for data.
