    KVA MK1 restoration

That‘s the gearbox I also used. Be careful with the connection of the shaft to the engine. I messed it all up, and it took a while to get it fixed

    KVA / SGT build

The Fourty is back on the street, first tests show a hugh difference when driving with proper connection between engine and gearbox. Let‘s figure out if this was all, or if more childhood diseases will occur. Welding on the Falcon is done, all seams primer coated and sealed, fig 2, and now, the...

    KVA / SGT build

This is just a heads-up if you use the Audi/VW 01E transmissions and a converter kit, you better measure before building the stuff into your car! My transmissions leaked after 600 km, so it got disassembled out of the car. Fig. 1 shows the status after a while. In fig 2 you see the result when...

    KVA / SGT build

Finally, the GT40 is back from TÜV including historic license. Since the battery hasn‘t been loaded during the last month at the German authorities, the car will require some hours on the charger to be able to start the engine without third party help. I may apply some white stripes during the...

    KVA / SGT build

Latest rumors say that I will pick up the GT40 next weekend, let‘s see. Consequently, I could spent some more hours on the Falcon BIW work. The rear floor is closed in the meantime, fig 1, same for the front tunnel cover, fig 2. Parts are primered and sealed, and therefore ready. The biggest...

Nicks Forte Scratch Build - to Stunning Mk1 GTD

Don‘t worry, even if there is reason enough for it. I have the same setup, but luckily assembled the starter engine before everything got into the car. We both share one wish: may the starter engine last a very very long time ;)

    KVA / SGT build

Besides waiting for the GT40 (inofficially, TÜV is done, paperwork still tbd) and welding on the Falcon, I finished the FIA-required fuel cell container, fig 1, capacity 120 litres. Since the stock radiator is too small, it got replaced by a larger version, fig 2, including an extension of the...

Which engine for my MK IV project?

My first V8 is a retrofit and strokered Windsor, that I bought from a dealer in Germany. The engine has 30.000 km done, no complaints. It works good for the Cobra for cruising, but no more torque above 4.000 upm. For the GT40, I bought a Ford Racing 347, new crate, with Borla Eightstack...

    Finally GT40

As I bought the first parts of my GT40, I called SGT and Tornado, and Mick and SGT became my choice. Also in small inquiries, Mick has always been very supportive. gtracingonline.co.uk, which supplied some parts to me, was also ok, but response and lead time not as good as SGT. There is no...

    KVA / SGT build

The GT40 is still with TÜV authorities, hard to believe, but I stay optimistic. The Falcon is back from the paint shop, and filler applied, looking much better, fig 1. I started with fitting of the right rear fender, fig 2, and this doesn‘t look too shabby. Welding will keep me busy during...

    KVA / SGT build

My GT40 is still away for TÜV due to quarantine reasons, two more weeks minimum. To to continue working on the Falcon: both doors including locks are in the car, and both front and rear bumpers are also attached. Made of 1mm aluminium, this is really lightweight.

Eddy, Neil is more than right. It‘s not only sealing, but also a good adhesive will add a lot of strenght and take loads away from the rivets.

Eddy, the rear panels are also not in my car. I needed the clearance to install pumps and hoses, so leave it open.

I did the same, plus the verticals. I don‘t believe that bonded and riveted sheets will provide much more stiffness to the frame. At the end, it‘s up to you and to the flexibility of your hands and arms ...

In this case: Front of the door collapses with A-post, position of hinges not correct, door latch wouldn‘t work. And working with fibres reminds me on the GT40 build
