Quick tool update... Picked up an engine crane today. It's well used and could do with a re-paint, but looks to work just fine. Need an engine now to make use of it :)

There's an Audi 4.2 V8 4.2 AHC S8 Engine (Uprated ABZ) on ebay at the minute. 340 bhp. Looks nice. I've not seen much on the internet on how to sort out the wiring though. It would be more straight forwards to stick with the stock ECU I guess, but it sounds like there'll be issues with sorting...

I'm planning to cut the panels with one of these. No doubt it will be a bit fiddly setting up an edge for the machine to run against the first few times. But after a few cuts and I've got the hang of it, I'm hoping it will be a reasonably simple and quick process. Time will tell....

Hi There should be another number underneath the gearbox. There's a picture here to help locate it. David found some ratio info here, so assuming you have a similar code, these should be your ratios. Hope this helps?

For the rear lights, the original fitting includes a reflector. If you're changing for a different style without one, you'll likely have to fit a separate reflector I think. Would be good if you could get one of those hamburger lights which included a reflector, fog and reverse lights somehow...

Thanks Enrique. Yep, I'd just laid it on the floor for a quick photo - think it was resting on something at the front which gave it a bit of a twist. Everything's all neatly stored now.
