    Crashed Ford GT

Paul, Any Ford dealer (with a GT certified mechanic/shop, if there is such an animal over there) could probably do the repairs. The dealer could get the subframes and any other parts from Ford. Doing it yourself, would most likely void any warranty remaining. Would there be any VAT on parts...

Re: Leaving for OZ next week - still OK for beers? Brett, Just curious...how many hours flying time from the UK to Oz? Jet lag + mass quantities of beer? That's gonna leave a mark! Bill

    Porsche Starter

Chris, Rant, rant , rant! Seriously, did one of the ears break off of the starter flange, or what? Is this a stock starter? Kennedy Engineered Products should have a gear reduction replacement for less than the cost of a new stock one. Got a photo? Bill

    Acetone as a gasoline additive?

I knew that sounded too good to be true! I'd be concerned about any additive (other than water or alcohol) degrading rubber/plastic fuel system parts. Bill

    Acetone as a gasoline additive?

I have read on a few different occasions, that acetone, when added to gasoline in specific ratios, can give as much as a 35% boost in fuel mileage. According to the articles, acetone simply reduces the surface tension of gasoline molecules, making them burn more efficiently. In addition...

    Bill Bayards DRB

Bill H, Ron was referring to a NEW paint scheme intended for my car, which hasn't occurred yet. After 3 years on the road, some knicks, scratches, etc, it's long overdue for a "facelift", which will include white stripes. Bill B

    Under ground/ basement garages

David, I can tell you from personal experience that unless you have a good French drain system in place and a sump pump with 12 volt backup in case of power failure, DON'T do it! My 40 was nearly inundated twice. Only by sheer luck, was I able to avoid disaster. A GT40 with 4" of ground...

WTB : Kevlar or Carbon Fiber scraps

Mike, Try eBay. I have seen small pieces of both CF and Kevlar for sale there in the past. Reasonable prices too. Are you building a tank, or what? Bill

    Modifying a Porsche G50 Transaxle

Steve, Kennedy Engineered Products and Renegade Hybrids would be worth looking into. KEP makes adapters for almost anything, and Renegade is a Chevy small block powered Porsche specialist. Bill

    EFI Systems

TWM makes an 8 stack EFI manifold and throttle bodies for a 460. Not cheap, but then what is these days! Kinsler builds one, but their unit requires more "massaging". Their EFI, that is! Bill

Baffled by baffle above weber trumpets

Charlie, Sounds like a "turkey pan"(cold air box). By drawing only outside air into the trumpets, you get a major boost in horsepower. I watched a guy aim a house fan at an 8 stack EFI manifold(Cobra/302W on a chassis dyno). Voila! 20 more horsepower on the next dyno run! At some point, I...

    drifting

Bill, More than likely, it's what they're smoking! Using the e-brake to get wheel spin isn't my idea of fun either! To each, their own. Ask NASCAR fans what LeMans is, and 95% of them would tell you that it's a Pontiac! Bill

    Price of gas.

Bill, I never thought I'd be saying this, but I certainly hope you are correct on the $2 per gallon figure! Sooner than later, s'il vous plait!! Bill

    New Muffler for GT?

It is a Borla. There's one on ebay right now. All yours for $2400 and change. And that's a cat back system only! BUT, Borla makes great mufflers, and it IS stainless. Bill

Warts and all GT40 Australia #48

Re: GT40 Australia #48 Congratulations Pete!!! Feel like you've just given birth?? Get that gearbox fixed, so you can get on the road and enjoy the new "baby"! While looking at your new plate sitting in front of your radiator, I had a thought. How about drilling a pattern of 1/8"...
