    cooling

LOL......as Walt said, your factory CAV radiator will be fine especially in 80 degrees! Walt is in Florida and I'm in Texas and our cars run fine in 100 degrees. I don't have a current pics of my radiator but here is CAV #180 which is also here in Dallas.

Request for advice re Holley 4150

I've never used a vacuum advance always a total advance locked down. I've had a couple small block 427s and set them total advance at 34 degrees. Keep in mind when you run it up to set it, it's not at 2,500 or 4,000 rpm but where ever it stops advancing then turn it to 32 or 34 where ever you...

Request for advice re Holley 4150

Your original post stated running extremely rich at idle so see what number power valve you have in it first and you might want to replace that first to see if it is blown. Going up in number will give it more gas at idle and usually you drop to keep the power valve closed longer so your issue...

Request for advice re Holley 4150

As many have stated it sounds like you have low vacuum at idle and the power value is opening. Typical if you have a bigger cam with low vacuum. You need to take a vacuum check at idle and in most cases you will find your vacuum is low allowing the standard 6.5 power valve to open making it too...

    GT40 vs the Competition

There is just something special about a the 1960s performance cars like a GT40, Cobra, Daytona Coupe or even Corvette Grand Sport vs today's performance cars. I'd take a GT40 vs a new Ford GT any day but that's mine vintage preference. It's funny to watch people flock around a 1960s GT40 replica...

    Superformance GT40 MkI ***SOLD***

It would be hard to let that GT40 go. Getting a new one doesn't change much unless you have a particular color in mind and then all the headaches to get a transaxle, sort it out and register it etc. I'm actually a bit surprised how soft car sales have been this year but that will change again...

    GT40 Trailer Unload

Bought a new Mission all aluminum trailer for my GT40 and took the car to the Texas Cobra Club Spring Meet/Event in San Marco, Texas. Running the Texas Hill Country with 135 Cobras was a blast for 4 days. Here is a video unloading my GT40 at the event. Unloading GT40 at Texas Cobra Club Meet...

Rear tire size question and 2"/4" flares......

No extensions or flares on my CAV GT 40 as it is the Standard MK1 design. I had bigger Mickey Thompson Radials on it that slightly rubbed on the drivers side (big bumps) on the lower rear bottom Quarter. It really had the big tall tire look of the 60s but AVONs are much better tire.

    Registration/VIN in Texas

This should be helpful. You present them with SPF's MSO and their identification number will become your vin.

Rear tire size question and 2"/4" flares......

I have a CAV GT40 MKI Std body and I'm running AVONs and love them! Frt: 225/60R/15 Rear: 295/50R/15 I was running Mickey Thompson Radials prior to the AVONs and had Goodyear Billboards on my last Cobra and neither can compare to these AVONs. They ride and handle outstanding and have...

Well said Mike and I totally agree with you! I've always taken pride in all my cars over the years and preferred to sell to others that were in the sport/hobby vs someone looking to flip the cars. My last cobra is in France with a guy that is deeply involved in the France Cobra Club and I love...
