    Red Top batteries - Warning

Woke up in a sweat this morning thinking, that info I gave on this thread was wrong and doesn't make sense, wish I could remove it.Anyway I hope I haven't put anybody out and I don't mind you thinking Ross is a nuff nuff. Best to go back to basics- A good test for a charging system (in a car...

RF#025 Historic Build and ongoing development

Hi Trevor I don't know if I'm right but I think you may be referring to the fixed end of the bar.The blade is on the RH rear in the left photo of the three. The weekend I fitted that rear bar I ruined $1000 worth of tyres, in the photos you can see there is clearance to the inside of the tyres...

RF#025 Historic Build and ongoing development

Sorry Troy I've been a bit distracted lately but here is a pic of my camera mount. The scrutineers want me to fit a support brace underneath but I don't reckon it's necessary. Ross

    Red Top batteries - Warning

Yes voltage sensing is how the alternator knows how much current to feed the battery to charge it.Late model internally regulated alternators have a Bat sense wire which is a good idea as the battery voltage could be different to alt output voltage due to the old enemy (voltage drop). Ross

    Red Top batteries - Warning

Malcolm The current output from the Alternator varies depending on the load. A flat battery will require charging and the alternator will supply a high initial charging current and then reduce this current as the battery charges up. An alternator should have a high enough current output to run...

    Rf 117

If he doesn't show up soon Lain I'll come up and do it for you. I love the 8 ball colour scheme by the way but I'm not sure about the white roll cage.Just my opinion of course. Are you sure you'll have the time to watch Jerry Springer on that dash TV? All looks good though, you can't be far off...

Hey Ali G ( Respect ). This one will do me thanks, I think I've seen a pic of the Pantera your'e referring to and it is a later model than we can run in Historic Races. Historic meetings are run on different dates to the State Events I compete in with GT40. Ron thats a Ford Falcon ute mate...

    Ross' New car has arrived

Well after purchasing this Pantera in Nov 07 off ebay in the US, I have just got it in my garage as of last week.No it doesn't take a ship 6 months to travel from the US to Australia and I am about to unleash all the drama on you people. The car I was after had to be fairly original as I want to...

latest race video From Phillip Island 18th May

Ah your onto me Jac Mac, Ford motors and ZF transaxles are just my cup of tea.Swapping them from one car to the other is a bit of a problem though, and I'm sure you know why.The Pantera is a P car but it's not a P...... car, I think I've started a trend with the P....car thing so I may as well...

Advertising Cars For Sale on GT40s.com

Re: Road/Race GTD for sale UK I don't think it is different in any part of the world Ron. If you want to sell a motor vehicle here in OZ, the seller pays for an advert placed in any of the magazines. There was one exception called ' The Trading Post' where you paid only if the car sold, but I'm...

latest race video From Phillip Island 18th May

Lain No such luck on the steering angle sensor, I'm very low tech and only have the clubman M48 Motec running the engine.I have no data logging. I do need some G force data in cornering now so I am looking into it. I see I have the steering wheel at nearly 180° in those corners (from the video)...

latest race video From Phillip Island 18th May

Lain I think you have already guessed it is Ted Hughlin in the yellow Lambo. Transferring from Ferrari has not corrected his off track excursions. I think aiming my car around him on the start is a good idea too don't you think? Ross:laugh:

    Mallory Park - Podium?????

Well done Malc 3rd with 64.5 rwhp not bad.The wet takes away hp advantage alright. We had the worst case scenario in my videoed race, on slick tyres with only parts of the track wet and some dry, so the $500k Lambo drivers found even 4 wheel drive couldn't help them stay on the track. I'd say...

How to get video on you tube

Hi Ray My video link is posted on the racetrack forum. Ron Did you get your 35min video to upload to you tube? I compressed my 14min one to under 100mb and uploaded it but it was rejected for being too long, so I edited/shortened it to 9mins and it uploaded and was accepted. Ross

latest race video From Phillip Island 18th May

Malc I didn't have the power to stay with the P....... cars in the dry but it was different in the wet as you can see.I reckon I had much more grip than them but I was being very cautious after going off twice on saturday. Quite a contrast from the start when it was dry.You could see the yellow...
