    McLaren M20#73

Hi Leon, no I'm still diverted onto the resto-mod of the 6/90. Hope to be racing again in '22. Good luck with the shakedown session - let us know how it goes. Cheers, Andrew

    McLaren M20#73

Andy, it knocks a lot of sound out - it's basically a deep rumble/roar rather than a sharp bark, typical of the flowmaster single chamber sound - probably nearly as much racket coming from the 8-stack. Never had a noise problem with stewards. Cheers, Andrew

    McLaren M20#73

Hi Andy, my approach probably won't work for you, and you look well advanced on some great pipework. Pic attached of how I did it. Cheers

    Looks superb Chris! Cheers, Andrew

    McLaren M20#73

Hi Andy, looks awesome as usual. Are primaries a bit long - 34'ish would be nearer a conventional calculation? Or are you constrained with packaging? Cheers, Andrew

They don't make a raised port version of the coyote head do they?

    Wolseley 6/90 revival

Hi all, bit of a milestone reached - headers are done. Hamish has done a superb job on these and there is a TON of work in them. Engine and box can come out now and I will move onto completion of wiring and engine bay prep/paint. We are nearly at the end of fabrication and fitting and the...

4bbL vs weber or stack for max hp from 302

Richard Holdener has tested a huge bunch of stuff on US V8s (his channel has a wealth of real dyno testing info in it), IR systems among them. Have a look at this - I think this is a typical set of trends for EFI ITBs vs open plenum short runner. Obviously not relevant to carb'd IR set-ups...

    Coyote cross-over header design

Hi Joel, the o2 placement is not that critical, in a collector 1 or even 2 metres from the exhaust port is fine. Many systems do just fine only sampling 1 bank for closed loop control, so getting all 8 is a nice-to-have but is by no means critical either. What could be a design and placement...

    Coyote cross-over header design

Hi Joel, looking at the photos in post #33 in your main build thread illustrates your point about lack of space. I'm not sure if it will give you the sound you want but from a packaging and heat management perspective it looks like you could effectively bring all 8 together somewhere above...

    Chuck's Jaguar D Type Build

Difficult to judge using photos shot near to the ground. A shot from head height would include all the great compound curves on the top of the front end. Looks super-cool.

    M6B Tragic

I think that's a good call Leon. When I got the M1 going it ran well but had transaxle oil breather niggles that resulted in it puking oil everywhere and was was far from OK in the chassis set-up/handling department. Took a full couple of test days and a month or so of fettling in between...

    Wolseley 6/90 revival

Hi all, another minor update. Have completed the air cleaner assemblies around the 8-stack set-up. Got blank backing plates from ITG delivered with the filters, had these water-jet cut along with some nylon spacers to pack them down for the necessary bonnet clearance. Glued it all together to...

    M20 Dreaming

Gidday Leon, if those are glass lucas beehive reproduction lights, I found with mine that the lenses both got hammered off in racing conditions because of their weight and the way they are retained . I went to plastic lenses which are much lighter and no more probs. Car looking awesome...

    McLaren M20#73

Hi Andy, I went the alternative design path and it was straightforward. I supplied hand-drawings to a structural engineer guy moonlighting at Gary Douglas Engineers Ltd (GDE) in Palmerston North. All I supplied was my main roll bar and backstay detail and materials specs, and he simulated...

    M6B Tragic

Hi Udo, thanks for the info. By the way, I'd love to claim the M20 as mine, but I am the other Andrew from Wellington and my rig is a more humble M1! Cheers, Andrew

Hi Udo, looks awesome! Are those Porsche CVs? Where did you get those cover/boot assemblies for them - they look really slick. Cheers, Andrew

    Wolseley 6/90 revival

Hi all, slowly plodding along. Been doing sheet metal bits and pieces - transmission tunnel, and modifying the front clip that was previously cut off to go back on around the new engine, mated up to the new front chassis. Did a test fit of the IR EFI set-up on the LS3 and will have to...
