Vintage Wheels 17 inch BRM delay

A few folks, Hershal, and I got into a discussion about wheels and GT40s while we were at this year's R&G. I think everyone agreed that a Cobra just has to have 15" wheels to look "right" - but on a GT40, 17" wheels still look "right." Given the availability of high performance (street)...

First Real Photo of Ferrari P 4/5

Re: First Real Photo of P 4/5 Once upon a time every boy in America had two posters in his bedroom: Farrah Fawcett in a bathing suit and a poster of a Lamborghini Countach. While I don't know who will be the poster girl of the age, I've a feeling your P4/5 will be the poster car of today's...

Looking for GT 40 Replicas in Kansas City

Not that I'm aware of. Alain (in Topeka) had one or two last year, but I believe he has sold both.

    RCR917 Teaser Pics....

I have often wondered what a 917 would look like on surface streets rather than the race track ... thanks for sharing the pictures! A GT40 looks more "at-home" on surface streets; probably because the width of the cabin is more car-like?

    RCR917 Teaser Pics....

Some time back on Gunnar Racing's site I found this link to a 917 chassis: Assembling the last new 917K , Click on image to see more Photo Gallery by Carl Thompson at pbase.com The hoop around the windshield is about the only major difference I see between the three.

    Carrol Shelby in Octane Magazine

Just remember that his focus is marketing: first, middle, and last. It all makes sense then.

    RCR917 Teaser Pics....

Looking great! Set one aside for me (along with one of each of the GT40, T70, and P3). Sooner or later I have to win the lottery!

    New 016 thread...

Ron, I'll echo what Chris said; when I spoke with him last week, Hershal said he toasted a clutch not the transmission. Hershal was nice enough to give me a ride around the track at R&G last week. I was more curious about the visibility out of the GT40 than the performance. The visibility...

Re: Dutton's Build Thread Look at that thing shine! Paint heck, just throw some wax on it and call it done.

    New Pictures of Betty

Very nice, I particularly liked the second picture. Have you noticed any difference in high speed handling that you can attribute to the front and rear spoilers?

    RCR #010 Build Progress

Looks great - and there looks to be more room in there than I thought there would be. Almost "roomy." What are you doing to fill the 1" gap between the top of the dash and bottom of the windshield opening?

    Tool for Tightening Switches

I took a (very cheap) pair of needle nose pliers and ground the tips to fit the slots in the switch "nut."

Build Diary - RCR Lola T70 Spider

Not that it would really change anything, but I thought the Lotus chassis was clear anodized (not raw aluminum). It would be interesting to anodize the RCR chassis... maybe even with a bit of color.

    If it wasn't a GT40...

It almost sounds like an echo in here... Porsche 917K Ferrari P3/4 Lola T70 Mk3 We need a new thread... what three cars, that you could remotely afford if you weren't working a GT40, would you want?
