Your first car was a ____________

A Mk1 Escort 1300GT (ish...!). Not this one...mine had lovely RS stripes on the side and steel rims. It was a 1974 car, and I bought it in 1984; it was already full of rust!

    Southern GT #48

I have re-done my entire shift mechanism, using better-quality UJs from RS Components, 16mm thick-wall stainless tube and made my own pivot pins and screws - an M8 bolt has a major diameter on the unthreaded shank of about 7.6mm...enough to cause a lot of lost-motion between gear lever and the...

UN1 Rod Change Reverse Gear Lockout

This is mine - it's a UN-1, so same shift pattern as yours. I kept the overall look of the original GT40 lockout with a lift-up mechanism, though of course reverse is left-and-back on the UN1 instead of left-and-forwards like on the ZF-equipped cars. Still need to polish out the *machining...

The nose and side vents bear uncanny similarities to the Mustang concept...did the same team style both cars?

Tandem Brake MAster cylinder for GTD40

Hi Laurent It looks like an ATE master cylinder from a 2.8i Granada or 2.8 Capri, same as this Bosch unit:- https://www.autodoc.co.uk/bosch/7294069 or https://www.onlinecarparts.co.uk/car-brands/spare-parts-ford/granada-estate-gnu/1569/10126/brake-master-cylinder.html Though this second...

    Eperiences with Tornado Sportcars

@Ron Earp Moderators, could we lock this thread? It started simply as a satisfied customer sharing his pleasant experience dealing with a long-established supplier, and could have ended there. It's now getting a bit ugly, and I think the GT40s forum is better than that.

@MartinS Love the Halibrand replica wheels...where'd you get them?

    UN-1 DB conversion, which oil??

Do you have a limited-slip-differential, and if so, which type? There's a Redline Synth 75W-90NS GL5 for non-LSD applications - part #58304. Can't remember the Millers recommendation last time this came up...maybe CRX 75W90? Someone will chime in shortly.

Oh...believe me, Frank - this is not a snap decision :) and your response is extremely tantalising....tell me more.... I think I may have read every "which fuel pump" post on this Forum, pored over my library (some titles here):- And scoured the paddock at last year's Oulton Park Gold...

@Shaun Sizen @Shed Racing Thanks guys. Holley Reds or Carters it is, then. Roadcraft have the Carters listed under (I think) a Federal Mogul part number:- https://roadcraftuk.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=41_122&product_id=348

Hi Mark I'm beginning to have second thoughts...I think I was given a false sense of security re: Facet pumps by these images:- which show pairs of Facet pumps.

    Southern GT #48

Thanks everyone for the input. I have to admit that before I ordered these parts I read every post on here about fuel pumps, fuelling requirements and people's experiences with Facet / Carter / Holley / Walbro etc . Here are the calculations (I'm planning for 330-350hp):- For example, if you...

    Southern GT #48

I made up a mounting plate for the pumps and pressure regulators, which is fitted to the bulkhead on 4 x rubber isolating fittings. The Facets are rated @ 40gph, and the Filter Kings are the large "V8" spec, with 85mm bowls & 10mm fittings. Rather than having a switchover between fuel...

    Fuel Filter Help

OK - once the filter bowl is removed.... I think what I'm seeing is some grey plastic flashing from when the seal was pressed into place, and four small stake marks to hold the seal in place. Hope this tallies in some way with the inside of your unit. As Trevor surmised, the concave side...
