Question of wheel size and brakes that'll fit........

That's kind of what I was figuring. Looks like it'll be the 17" diameter. Another thing was rear flares. I've seen "stock", 2" and 4" flares available. Any comment on what's the difference other than the size of the rear tire. I do like the look of steam rollers out back.

Question of wheel size and brakes that'll fit........

I'm in the planning stages of building a GT40. One of the things that has come up is the wheel diameter. I'm thinking of building a car from Active Power Cars and they use Corvette C5/C6 suspension pieces and brakes. I've seen that the factory size rotors are 12.6" on the front and 11.8" on...

    Coyote or SBF

I'm starting to re-think the Weber EFI thing. I was looking into it more today and what I'm finding is that real cost by the time you buy everything needed and have some tuning time on a dyno, you can be looking at $7-8K just for the induction setup. Plus the engine has to be built just right...

    Coyote or SBF

All I know is that when I hit 55, I stopped being interested in technology. I want my old mercury thermostat back. I don't want a car that beeps at me every time I do something it doesn't like. If I want to watch a movie, I miss the anticipation of running down to Blockbuster and renting a...

    Coyote or SBF

This question probably depends on which generation you're talkinig to. Anyone over 50 would say definitely do the 351W engine as there are only a "few' things that need to be adjust to be tuned and running well. Anyone under 40-45 will want to whip out their laptop, go through the engine MAP's...

That's what I thought. I talked about the 8 stack for a windsor earlier.

What is that induction system? Was it hard to get it running on Coyote?

WOW Morton. That is one heck of an exhaust setup you have there. And with a cross-over tube no less. And lots of heat reflective gold too.

What are all the special tools I keep reading about???

Sounds like I'm in good shape. I don't have a press. But have easy access to one. I guess I'd need a riveting gun.

    Coyote or SBF

Sounds like a great car. And this kind of goes back to one of my earlier posts when I showed an Weber style EFI for an LS-series engine. Don't mount the coil packs on the valve covers and for the casual observer, it looks like it should. And you can make a lot of power very easily with an LS...

What are all the special tools I keep reading about???

OK. I've been working on cars for close to 30 years now. Just like Jeff Spicoli's dad, I've got an awesome set of tools. But I'm not a TV repairman. :)

What are all the special tools I keep reading about???

Hi, I've read a bunch on the site here. And it seems to come up a lot. What exactly are all the "special" tools that someone is going to need to build one of these cars?

    Coyote or SBF

I hear you on that. But a simple "An original is worth millions, what do you think?" should do. That was the whole point behind kit/continuation cars. Even Superformance can't say they are an original car. But the cars here are a far cry from the fiberglass bodies, Kellison and Avenger, that...

    Coyote or SBF

That's been my dilema. I've been a GM/Chevy guy all my life. From a 1967 SS Impala to Camaros, 3 Chevy trucks, etc. I think I would be crucified if I showed up with a GT40 with an LS engine in the back. That said, you can get almost 600hp without batting an eye in these engines with a good...

    Coyote or SBF

Active Power is less than an hour from me and I was going to give them a call and take a look. I know they use Corvette C5/C6 suspension. And RCR uses total custom-made suspension parts. So I guess both are technically kit cars and not continuation cars like from Superformance. But I still...
