    Pros/Cons

Arvin, don't let anyone scare you away from a build. It's definitely not rocket science, just time consuming. With that said you will be dollars ahead buying a used car and making the adjustments you desire. Some of the chassis/bodywork/cars are lighter than others. Some are more"original."...

This is what us Docs are up against!

WE are just being screwed by insurance companies. (and ALL the OTHER corporations taking over health care) Largest chunk of the population here in the US is/are hitting the hospitals and assisted living/nursing homes now. It won't be long......... S

    P2161 Re-make

Just curious to hear whether or not you stroked it or increased the bore size to 4.125? I have been looking at the short-deck (8.2) blocks with the 4.125 bores......

    CAV or SPF GT40?

Aaron, Veek's suggestion to sit/drive/ride in a few before you buy is golden. Each replica will be different than another of the same make based on the owner/builders preferences. How you fit in the car will vary as well from manufacturer to manufacturer. These cars are hot, raw, cramped little...

    Widebody RCR40

Adam, Jay at Cushman is a stand-up guy. I have bought lots of stuff from him and he always delivers. You may want to start looking for a used 3" impact socket for those center-lock nuts now on ebay. Ez to put on with a breaker bar, but you will need a 1" drive truck impact to get them off...

    Light weight body CAV GT

Mark, Just an FYI, other manufacturers bodies will NOT fit like CAV. Most of the time it will take considerable work to make one fit a different chassis. Scott

Rear clip...... Randy the rear subframe that Tom came up with eliminates all the flex and locater problems you are dealing with. I am working on replacing both front and rear subsections on my RCR as well. Scott

    Porsche 930 Stuck in first

Jac, I do remember Russ's posts on that. The 930 is paired with a big block at the moment and will not take that kind of rpm at 80mph sustained. I also looked at changing fourth gear for freeway use, but with the standard r/p won't drop the rpm down far enough to make it livable. So, I may swap...

    Porsche 930 Stuck in first

Bill, I took a quick look around and didnt see any ring/pinions other than the stock 4.22/1 ratio. They do make a 3.10/1 for the g50 which is pretty good for us. At 3k plus the cost of tranny AND labor to change/repair anything once you get it open, seems like a new box is the ticket. Dunno...

    Porsche 930 Stuck in first

Kent, What kind of rpm are you running at 70 and 80mph with the 930? (I have a stock g50 and a stock 930 and am going to spend some money on gears soon) I run about 2800rpm at 80mph here in fl with the g50 and it is a little much for more than an hours drive... Thanks, Scott P.S. Nice...

    need a starter for G50

Dwight, Kennedy sells one (300 I think), and or you can use a porsche starter too. Porsche reman is between 4-500. (I put one on the RCR when the hi-tork mini starter got tired) S (if you want part# send a pm) Happy turkey day!
