    2161 Makeover

Mike, Make-over looks great! Whatcha doin for mirrors??? I recently moved to a much warmer climate and want to install the helicopter vents. What size are those, and do you feel you get enough airflow with one per window? (I have seen some with 2,one mounted high and another mounted low like...

    Front nose section slider brackets

Darrin, If you look at Toms' RCR track-racer build, there are some good pics of how those sliders are bolted on and WHAT they are attatched to. Your front clip does not have the additional piece that is glassed inside the front clip that they normally mount to. I don't have any pics as I am...

Was this kva chasis and shell really cheap or about right?

Rolls, To give you an idea....... The body alone runs anywhere between 4-8k used-new. (and only a few people/manufacture a new MK3 body........) If you are going to do all the work yourself and source parts its a good start. If you are going to pay someone else to build it, it will be...

    Amelia Island 2013

It was pretty neat to see many of the originals in one spot! There are a lot of little differences between the cars, and it becomes VERY apparent when you see them side by side. I took a lot of pics with an i-phone, but most of them are detail shots of features I wanted to research. Here is...

    Front and rear clip brackets......supplier?

Andy, I have sets of the parrot-beak hinges that bolt onto the rear clip made out of aluminum. I would suggest Gelesco as they are on your side of the pond though..... Scott

SPF #2285 Born, But Still Coming To Life

Robert, You mentioned a few posts back about cutting out the upper corners of the rear clip to release more hot air. On both of my cars, this would only let air out of the wheel-wells. (there is a splash-guard that seperates the engine area on both sides) I don't remember looking under the rear...

    rotor refacing

Bill, I ran into the same problems with rotors on an RCR. I did have three of them re-cut, and the warp just came right back. The solution was to buy new short-trac rotors made by wilwood. (no problems after that) If you like, post a pic of the rotor, and I can give you a part number/source. Or...

How does the body used by GTD compare to the original

To the OP, Generally speaking, original body parts will not fit KVA or GTD without a lot of re-working. The major problem is the spider is different at the rear edge/contour. The doors and front clips are different as well. If you want the original look, buy a COMPLETE original body. Otherwise...

    J. Salmon RCR-40 Build

J, Once you fit the bump-steer kit and new tie-rods it will be a night and day difference! I am using the most forward holes on the front uprights for the tie-rods, and steering response is now instant. See the end of ckouba's build thread. (I havent had any problem with my rack other than some...
