    My Lotus build

Boy Ill tell ya. This building your own body. Is like the sign "You don't have to be crazy to work here. We'll train you" LOL Getting everything to line up & clearances. Just when you think you've got it you find low (or high) spots etc. Getting to the point I can take a mold is driving me crazy...

    Unloading With Lift Gate Service

If it's supposed to be a "lift gate" delivery. It won't be an 18 wheeler I'm sure. They very rarely have lift gates. They are designed to back up to loading docks. More like a couple of ton box type van or flat bed.

    A rare opportunity

Randy glad you were able to make a deal. It looked like a spot on repro tub. An aluminum body? Did he have a coupe body? That's what I've been looking for & windshield. Good luck on your build & don't forget to post pictures LOL

    the Steinard MK3 takes shape

Are you going to have it made in glass? If not, why not just buy one from the maker of the body? I'd assume they'd have the correct plastic one.

So over there they won't allow you. To add the load of the shock/spring to the A arm? Seems like a pretty normal set up. That's the way I have mine I know.

    Ozi 206 sp

Guys take some time for yourself too. You never know when that "something" is going to hit you. I've been disabled/retired since 03. Never ever expected to be retired at 52. I was lucky & worked where there was a retirement & had enough time in plus disability to make it (barely). But the Drs...

Scott have you tried Industrial Metal Supply in Irvine? I think they have one in LA too. I use Schorr Metal in Anaheim too. But IM is a bit cheaper I think.

    My Lotus build

No Ian I don't think they're needed on a street car. I don't think they were doing that much yet in about 1970. Trying to keep it pretty well in period 69-71.

    My Lotus build

Well got the first coat of primer on the nose this evening. Still have some detailing to do around the headlights & air exit. Going to need to pick up some glazing putty tomorrow. Put it back on the car. Finalize the wheel arch shapes. Then do the roll around them. A whole lot of sanding &...

    JWA Mirage M1 Body shell

Those last two posts show there is a difference in the Mirage cars as well. I really like the second one M2?

    JWA Mirage M1 Body shell

In truth I was not aware of these "mirage" model cars. Those are really some lookers & I think they are a more "developed" looking body. I'd like to see one up close & personal too LOL

    JWA Mirage M1 Body shell

I think he was referring to the Mirage Can Am cars. Not GT40 cars (but I could be wrong) that"s what I was talking about anyway LOL

    JWA Mirage M1 Body shell

That's probably not a well enough known (successful) car. That anybody ever made a replica of. You'd probably have to make your own.

    Hello everyone!

Welcome to the forum. There's a wealth of info, knowledge & awe inspiring talent here. Most frames are space frame (tube) then skinned. It's the most economical & easiest way to build these kinds of cars. Since the original GT40 chassis was a myriad of steel stampings it would be nearly...

On the tail lights. The Lotus Elise uses similar ones (white center in red) don't know about the diameter though. They may be smaller?
