    Spf gt 40

I noticed in mine, actually most of the cars I sat in, I reclined too far back and my head was not centered in the bubble. The two things I did was install the spacer on the engine wall Olthoff sells, you can do the same by using towels or something to sit a little more vertical, and I also had...

    2307 is alive!

Couldn't agree more! And that's fine, I have no problem with opinions, we all have them. Besides the mirrors, I still have the front canards to put on and the decal kit, just numbers and a couple side decals.

    2307 is alive!

Mike, I measured the car at the points you asked and I sit at 4 3/4" at the rear and 4 1/4" at the front. I really like the look of the lower cars, just don't think I want to go there yet. I would have to install one of those front end lifts that Rick did, super clean with a very small...

    2307 is alive!

Mike, I will check the height and get back to you. Rich, the mirrors aren't my favorite either. I personally like the location (kinda goes with the era) but I will be switching to the round brushed aluminum soon. When the car was at Olthoff's, I sat in a couple of cars with different mirrors...

    2307 is alive!

Jeffrey, On the engine builder, I went with KeithCraft, very pleased with the job they did. I chose this route because I wanted a couple things that some of the crate engine companies would not do, dry sump, solid rollers as an example and they had done one before in my other car. The block...

    2307 is alive!

Jack, What is funny is I never drove one before I ordered mine and took delivery. I guess I was a little afraid something wouldn't meet my expectations. Some of my friends even questioned me on how you could spend that kind of money on a car that I have never driven. Although we have been...

    2307 is alive!

Dave, I went with the ECU from Dennis. I liked all the features it had plus it is small enough to fit under the passengers seat. I wanted it out of sight in the engine compartment. Mike

    2307 is alive!

Here are a few more pictures with a little better angle on the vent tubes to the oil cooler and the sump tank and engine compartment in general along with the heat shielding mounted to the transaxle and coming up both sides of the exhaust pipes.

    2307 is alive!

Dave, Here are some more of the roll bar. What I liked with Olthoff's bar compared to the factory setup was they tuck it up under the lip of the engine compartment, real tight and clean. Mike, sound video will come as soon as I install the megaphones. Stock mufflers are too quiet. I have the...

    2307 is alive!

The car I ordered in April of 2012 has arrived. Unloaded today in Southern California all the way from Olthoff's shop in North Carolina. 100f outside today, unloaded, filled it up with gas and put 100 miles on it with no issues, Thanks Dennis, Paul and Merlin! I wanted a Street Car with the R...

    Monterey

To all the fellow Superformance owners I met, and I already forgot some I'm sure, but Richard, Jim and and Jack, thanks for letting me pick your brains on all your experiences with your cars. It was great to see all the little details each of you have contributed to your cars. Timing was...

How many RHD SPF GT40s in the USA?

Mike, Add one more RHD in our sunny state. I plan on being in Monterey in two weeks and look forward to hopefully seeing some of GT40s that have said they are coming. My maiden voyage will be from so. Ca. up hwy 101 and 1 with a few buddies enjoying the coast and the roads. In the meantime...

    Noob questions

The wheels are only widened to the inside about 1 1/4". I saw this on another SPF car and I really liked the look. The Dry Sump system is from Aviaid, pan also, just make sure you get the bracket install kit for the pump for the left hand side. The standard Ford setup is for the right, so I'm...

    Noob questions

I also ordered from Hillbank a little over a year ago and went through all the same questions. 351/427, 302/331, and back to a 351/438. KeithCraft built the motor and Olthoff is doing the install. I am scheduled to visit Olthoff's next week for final fitting, dyno work and test drive. In...

    Addition To The Family

Tim, What are your plans for the new car and the old car? I looked at this car a couple years ago with the previous owner in Vegas. Did you get this from Pathfinder? Beautiful car! Can't wait to see it. Mike
