1080 is about to be shipped to the USA from England. It may also make a guest apperance depedning upon how long it takes to land.

Simon, 1080 also has the pop-out vent with the circular hole. I have no idea where they came from but the car was restored at Modena Motor sport. These pop out vents with the round hole are original t the Gulf Spec cars, and you will notice that the vent is present in the attached photo of 1080...

I have the original bodywork of my car and it's guards are flared. So I assume all of the Gulf Spec cars were made this way.

Tim, thanks for the information, I will have somebody look into it. So maybe I can see you all down in Centenial Park after all. FYI 1080 is now with Willy Green and John Etheridge at Donnington Park getting sorted out. So it will soon be on the track.

Peter, I will start my transition back to Sydney in the second half of this year and should be back permanently in 2006. 1080, wont be so lucky. I have a good program of races for her in various places culminating in the Classic Le Mans in 2006. After this I will probably bring her to Sydney...

The "box" is a fuse panel, I have seen this same arrangement on other Gulf Spec cars. See photo.
