Frank, have you spoken with Richard Winter over at Europa Engineering? http://www.banks-europa.co.uk/index.php

Any body seen the movie Le Mans 66?

David lots of us have seen it here in the US, but it has a different title: "Ford vs Ferrari". There are 3-4 different threads discussing it in this forum. Most everyone on this side of the pond seems to have enjoyed it, and yes, Christian Bale playing Ken Miles is the true star of the show and...

    Homebuilt Mid-Engine Sports Racer

Neil I really like your fan setup, and had thought to do something very similar for a street driven Ferrari, but was convinced by others the noise would be deafening with smaller, higher speed fans in lieu of a pair of larger slower speed ones. In your case noise probably isn't an issue, however :)

    Penetrating Oils

I also found the ATF/Acetone mix to work the best at unsticking piston rings and dissolving gum/varnish/carbon. This was for a short block sitting on an engine stand, but had multiple cylinders that had high leakdown numbers. I had tried PB Blaster, et al, and the ATF/Acetone worked the best...

Is gt40's important to you - let us know your thoughts

Well cr*p. I went ahead & hit the "Gold Supporter" button, and now I see that I just have a gold star icon spinning in my user box, and have lost the Lifetime Supporter trophy icon..... Maybe it'll come back once things have "synced" up again.

Is gt40's important to you - let us know your thoughts

Lifetime Premier Supporter here, but am willing to contribute more because this is one of very few car sites that I subscribe to, where a good technical discussion doesn't degenerate into a "mine is bigger than yours" diatribe. I don't want to sign up for a "gold" subscription that could...

    Unred Post Flags

Still had one Unread Post thread pop up this morning after trying it Ron's way yesterday.

    Unred Post Flags

Ron, I think you're on to something there..... I notice the "Mark Forums Read" button on the forum home page has a different set of modifiers than the "Mark Forums Read" button on the Quick Links. Maybe that's what the problem has been? I've logged in & used the button on the home page 3...

    Unred Post Flags

Just logged in 1st time since yesterday and no new "unread posts" came up. Is the forum back to normal again?

    Unred Post Flags

I had another six threads pop up this morning with "unread posts". Opened them, closed them and they disappeared the next time I hit my shortcut for "new posts". Guess that'll be the daily band-aid remedy until the site developer figures out what happened.

    Unred Post Flags

Ian, I tried your fix and thought it worked, but one day later, a new thread appeared in the "unread threads". But at least it was only one, not a couple hundred :) Is your fix still working for you?

    Unred Post Flags

Ron, like others, I've tried 3 different browsers, plus deleted the GT40s.com cookies from all three. Same result. One browser that I use clears the cache and deletes all cookies and local content on exit, so it's pretty clean when it restarts, but it's still showing these "unread" threads...

    Unred Post Flags

Marking forums read isn't doing anything for me anymore. My usual mode of operation in the past was, click my shortcut for New Posts, read what's interesting, then click on "Mark Forums Read" and exit. It doesn't work anymore (at least for me), however.

Same here; the "Mark Forums Read" button doesn't seem to have any effect.

Turbo Wrap or not to turbo wrap

Jim, I would reinforce Kaspa's comments about the wrap, however I would both ceramic coat the hot side, AND use one of the blankets Kaspa mentioned. The ceramic coating will keep more heat inside the turbine and less radiated to the engine bay, and it might even help the turbine efficiency a...

    Alternative engine for your SLC

That's Ed "MWrench's" site, but I don't recall seeing those cutaway pics before, thanks! The link to the twinturbo M70 in the Cobra is another Houston guy. We corresponded a fair bit during his build as he was interested in a Dailey dry sump setup like mine.

    Alternative engine for your SLC

Crazy Swedes! At least they maintained a sense of humor trying to stuff 2 turbo's onto that V12 in an engine bay that is already challenged to handle a straight six. Seven years later and it's apparently still not running - sounds like my project :) The lure of these beemer V12's is how cheap...

Thanks, ARP are my next port of call, however it still would be good to know the dimensions of the Coyote studs just for general info.
