Yes now I`m disabled I use a mobility scooter. I never wanted that either but needs must. I have an automatic car as well so I can get around.

Just for info I had some suspension links off his car after he changed to Rose type joints but that was years ago.

The best engine balancer I know has retired and sold his equipment. His name is Mike Huddart from Hankelow nr Nantwich. He has sometimes commented on things here.

Has anyone ever inverted an automatic transaxle successfully? Health issues mean I need to look at various options including dry sump on automatic trans and hand clutch on a manual gear lever. I have ideas on both but I`m interested whether its been done already?

I presume you are not interested in originality if you intend using Chevrolet and Japanese car parts in your build? Up to you of course, each to their own, good luck with it. There is plenty of help out there if you need it.

I used a similar system to the one Andrew used when I inverted my Renault UN1 transaxle all those years ago. It has worked well and given no trouble that I recall.

Sorry brain working now, I don`t know what the clam was off, it was the wheels I was thinking about as the wider Gulf wheels in 69 were under arches with no lips, the 68 wheels were under arches with lips. This was not a Gulf coloured clam anyway so I presume its off something else?

Looks like the 68 arches to me. The 69 cars used 14 inch wheels under rear clams that were wider I think

I should have added that my engine is set at the same height as the original 40s and I kept the driveshaft angles similar too and not as extreme as some cars I`ve seen, That is why fitting an auto box would make it difficult to achieve similar results.
